They can’t even win the damn Big 12. To put it in terms those boys might understand…I’m sure they will want the SEC office and conference title game moved to Dallas.
it will be fun watching them try to take away Bama’s Top Dog status. Both arrogant jerk fan bases Comparing D size.
That’s why I disagree when people say that Sankey follows Bama and Saban’s orders. He is too powerful in the overall landscape of sports to be tied to a particular powerhouse. Every interview I heard from him during the Spring meetings suggested that he wanted 9 games, and that he was pissed that the votes weren’t there. I think you’re right, this is his way of saying “you want 8?” Here you go. Enjoy it .Georgia having to play Bama, Texas, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida....dang.
I think Sankey is gonna change everybody's mind about a 9 game schedule real quick. He is creating some serious match ups to tick people off AND to show how many marquee match ups this league can produce. Its worth paying for. And the teams will miss their built in 3 opponents.
It’s been announced they will Travel to Oklahoma for 24Well, Saban apparently nullified the 3-6 format that he had formerly approved when he learned that his 3 permanents would be Auburn, Tennessee, and LSU.
So, I’d expect his 8 for 2024 to be announced as:
Vandy
Kentucky
Missouri
SCarolina
MSU
Arkansas
Ole Miss
Auburn
He wants 9 for the TV deal negotiations and likely prioritizing quality match ups this year to also take to the table to promote a new TV deal. Simply he's creating a schedule in 2024 to prove how much viewership the SEC can bring in and use as leverage with the networks. That’s why I disagree when people say that Sankey follows Bama and Saban’s orders. That’s a good point as well.He wants 9 for the TV deal negotiations and likely prioritizing quality match ups this year to also take to the table to promote a new TV deal. Simply he's creating a schedule in 2024 to prove how much viewership the SEC can bring in and use as leverage with the networks.
