Here we go......

Capital cities do tend to have some amenities that you can't find in other places, mainly places that cater to government relations industry. OTOH, if being in a capital city was the end all be all then Vandy and SC would be a lot more historically successful programs. Of course I don't know to what extent Saban may respond to the sirens' calls of food truck parks, bat roost bridges and weirdseums.

The job hopping is over blown. He was at MSU for 10 years. Obviously the move to the fertile recruiting grounds of LSU was an upgrade. After winning a couple of SEC titles and a NC he wanted to give the NFL a shot. He quickly learned everyone has 5* players and you can't cherry pick the roster like you can in college so he came back.

There are reasons to move on but I don't think job hopping is one.

He was only at MSU for 5 yrs.

Chuck Carlton from the Dallas Morning Star was just on Finebaum and said two sources have "confirmed" that Mack will step down this week. He believes Mack will step down but would bet against Saban ending up in Austin.

Hitting the twitterwaves now; Mac Brown stepping down. No way Texas makes this move with the weak pool of "available" candidates unless they have an ace up their sleeve.

I heard from a very reputable source Saban is heading to Texas as we speak and will soon announce a Texas move from the Big 12 to the SEC.

16th team to be decided by Saban after bowl season.

So you spent a night on 6th street. Congrats.

Guys, seriously, it's a cornucopia for a 22 year old male that knows how to play 3 chords on the guitar and likes a little craft beer with his weed, but to a 60 year old man, it might as well be Norman Ok without the snow.

And Tuscaloosa is so much better? Seriously?

I heard this too. Who do you think the other team will be? I bet Saban chooses FSU.

Actually, I heard he was going to convince Oregon to move to the SEC West, leaving Texas free to move to the SEC East. Said something to the effect that Texas can't afford to lose to Ole Miss again and can't take the chance of becoming A&M's bizatch next season. And he would very, very, very much like to get away from Miles and Malzahn.
