Rub their noses in what? The Vols didn't win anything. This reminds me of Little League where everyone gets a trophy. UT gets destroyed by these teams yearly and loses to ACC teams in bowl games. Bragging rights are pretty hollow when you are promoting the achievements of your most hated rivals. Maybe this is how Vanderbilt fans live with themselves.

Reading comprehension deficiencies? It would be the idea of the SEC winning titles against the Big Ten and Pac 10. Thus "rubbing their noses in it". Maybe Tennessee should secede from the SEC so all of their triumphs and failures could be born without interference from those pesky other schools.

Are you actually thinking that typing it out is going to make this line of reasoning any better? I completely disagree with this. To put it in the form of an over the top Dooley-ism: When I see Alabama or Florida win a title, I see an evil abomination similar to Hitler's run through Europe. I don't think that too many defeated Europeans were cheering for the Nazis because of continent pride.

I'm surprised to hear that. Even with the Buckeyes finally beating an SEC team, most people here realize the Big 10 isn't exactly strong.

Iowa fans generally have a very convoluted outlook on life and sports. They're the greatest there ever was or ever will be. None of them know a damn thing about any other conference.

But even 2nd tier SEC teams hired decent coaches; Petrino at ARK, Spurrier at SC, Mullen at Miss St. TN and Vandy are the only two schools that have made such huge coaching gambles. Vandy has an excuse but TN don't. TN made the choice to let all these other teams pass them by.

You must be dealing with a different group. The vocal ones I usually hear are like Notre Dame fans...their teams get the snot beaten out of them, so they start talking about academic standards or their team from 1922.

Read Chizik's bio, and you'll see that he was head coordinator for two undefeated teams, 10 years as DC altogether. Plus he had experience at Auburn already. There was no way to tell that he would be as good as he's been, but it was not the gamble that Kiffin and Dooley are. Especially Kiffin, the guy just got fired. And Dooley has zero head coordinator experience.

Does his bio have his Iowa State record in it?

Or the fact ISU had a better record before he got there or that they got better after he left?

Championships aren't earned easily. As a fan of a team whose ass was regularly kicked in order to pave the road for those championship teams, I'm pretty darn proud to have contributed.
