Herschel Walker channeling his inner Travis Henry

That’s not even the problem with Walker though. People change their stances over time. Hillary Clinton used to be a Republican.

The problem is we’ve completely traded ability to serve for electability. That’s how we get a Preacher vs a mentally disabled football hero running for the US Senate. It’s mind numbing.
Herschel has called abortion "murder." This is more than just changing positions. This is extreme.

I once nearly walked into the path of an oncoming car. That doesn’t mean I forfeit the right to tell you to look both ways when you cross the street.

I get what you’re saying. But the hypocrisy bus left town a long time ago when it comes to politics.

I hope he wins too. It just amazes me that we’re in a world where he’s the better alternative lol. It shows how whackadoodle the Democrat Party has gone nationally.

Both parties have gone whackadoodle. Hell the country has gone whackadoodle. Substance no longer matters it's a ticktock soundbite nation.

The Senate could use some extreme zealots. Why should Congress have all the fun?
That’s what’s weird about this. This is like a House race. I can’t ever remember two guys with less business holding office facing each other for a Senate seat. (Except for what’s happening in Pennsylvania right now lol)

Herschel Walker is running as a Pro-Life hardliner, who is in favor of abortion bans without exceptions made for rape and incest. He has even likened abortion to murder ... But he paid for his girlfriend's abortion???

Even by the standards of politicians, that is an epic level of hypocrisy that you don't often see. I don't think we are finished with these October surprises for Herschel either. There is definitely more to come.

Wasn't that in 2009?

You're acting older and older with each passing day.

That is an absurdly drawn false equivalency.

You failed to exercise due caution once, and learned from your mistake. You are now passing along the lessons you learned from that bad experience to others. That is not hypocrisy.

During his 2022 Senate campaign, Herschel Walker has described abortion as "a woman killing her baby," and then said that he doesn't understand how a Baptist pastor like Raphael Warnock can support it ... but Herschel paid for an abortion in 2009? That is about as hypocritical as a politician can get.

People don't/can't grow over 13 years? Maybe that mistake is one that profoundly changed his life and views?

Herschel Walker is still a hypocrite for saying that he didn't understand how Raphael Warnock could support abortion, without disclosing his own history of financially assisting an abortion.

You left out part of the context. He said he couldn't understand how a Baptist preacher could support abortion.

He did not say he couldn't understand how a Heisman Trophy winner could support abortion, which would definitely be hypocritical.

I know my feelings and thoughts about abortion changed since I was a young man. You would probably call me a hypocrite as well and perhaps you'd be right, but i don't think so. I simply do not see things the same way I did years ago.

But you did not go on national tv and vehemently deny it.

If the report is true, he'd have been better off saying it was 15 years ago and he lives with the pain of it and will forever. Use that to make an argument that its a reason why abortion should be banned.

But if he is lying about something that is such a fundamental core part of his platform, there ought to be a price paid. Of course, we've said that before about others and nothing happened. Instead tribalism caused those in his camp to simply ignore the falsehoods, make excuses, etc., and to rally around the candidate as some kind of victim, which I find hilarious.

And Walker COULD HAVE said the same thing.

Ok, every politician is a hypocrite then.

During his 2022 Georgia Senate campaign, Herschel Walker has described an abortion as being "a woman killing her baby." With such a harsh choice of words, Herschel Walker is effectively criticizing every woman who has ever had an abortion. Walker is a hypocrite for doing so, without disclosing his own personal history of financially assisting an abortion in 2009. That was just 13 years ago. There is no way that he had forgotten about it.

Changing one's mind, does not make a person a hypocrite. I've changed my opinion on a lot of things through the years. I used to be quite homophobic. I used to call gay people "f*ggots" all the time. Through growth and maturity, I developed tolerance. Now, I support gay marriage and have a few gay friends. I would only be a hypocrite, if I criticized young people for being homophobic without mentioning that I used to be a homophobe myself at their age. The same logic applies with your analogy. You are not a hypocrite for changing your beliefs. You would only be a hypocrite if you were critical of young people for having the same beliefs that you had at their age, without making that disclosure.
