Herschel Walker channeling his inner Travis Henry

Trafalgar Group is a Republican Party pollster ... and they are not close to being the most accurate poll. They did get it right in 2016 ... but they were just as wrong in 2020.
You do realize that Trafalgar also has Fetterman, Kelly and Whitmer leading in their polls. By the way, they only have Herschel up by maybe 1 to 1.5 percent.

Yep. In the first one, he did say both. I watched the 2nd and while he did not technically say he graduated, ”was in the top 1% of his graduating class” is, at best, deceiving. He repeated the valedictorian falsehood.

But I wonder if you actually watched both in full. While I do not condone the false academic claims, damn man, he got up and bared his soul about mental problems he had to deal with. He dealt with them. Rest of those interviews displayed an openness one never gets from our regular politicians.

Yeah, you keep on throwing those stones buddy, if it makes you feel superior to a man who has dealt with what he has dealt with and has accomplished what he has accomplished, have at it.
It's great that he has worked to overcome some serious obstacles. It is not great that he was lying his butt off to a class of high school students that he was supposed to be helping.

Democrats love to throw stones. Yet they were all in on Cunningham in NC even after it was discovered he cheated on his wife DURING the campaign. Warnock himself is no saint either. There's plenty of dirt out there on him as well. Then you have this Fetterman guy who has a history even before this election. And let's not forget they voted for one of the biggest racists of all time to be president in the last presidential election. I'll always remind them how James Eastland was Jim Crow Joe's mentor.

All true. The proportion of people that voted for Biden who voted for him is small relative to the number that voted against Trump. As it was in '16, with HRC and Trump. The majority of people (including Republicans who held their noses) and voted for Trump did so as a vote against Hillary.

It would be a welcome change if someone(s) came along that motivated people to vote for them, rather than simply against the other guy/party/tribe.

Too many people just like you so neither party has to.

I don't mean to do overkill on Herschel Walker's academic career, but for those of you who don't remember the Herschel years at Georgia (1980-1982), they were even better back then, than they are now ... until a Professor from their English Department named Jan Kemp blew the whistle on their academic corruption. It forced Vince Dooley into an early retirement and sent the fortunes of their football team in the opposite direction for the next 20 years or so. Herschel Walker was a main beneficiary of the academic fraud which kept barely literate UGA athletes eligible.

I only bring this up to underscore how absurd his academic boasts, including "I was in the top 1% of my graduating class," are.

ESPN.com: NCAA - Georgia: Better late than never

It is unlikely that Herschel Walker could have even remained academically eligible without having been on the receiving end of the academic corruption, which Jan Kemp uncovered ... and yet, he wants us to believe that he not only graduated from Georgia, but did so at the top of his class? Come on, man.

He’s a Bulldog. I assume all are illiterate

By his own admission, Herschel Walker was diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder in 2009. That is the latest clinical term for what used to be known as Multiple Personalities Disorder. It is a very serious disorder of mind and brain.
So is narcissism, but that hasn’t stopped 80% of the Senate from running for office.

Going back 42 years on a college players academics? You realize Tennessee in the 80’s-through Fulmer era and into Kiffin was not sending out the best scholars into the world. Even had our own ESPN story on academic fraud under Fulmer. Another reason why Dooley had to recruit a different type of player.

Could you scream, "LOOK OVER THERE!" a little louder? I don't think they could hear you in Idaho. LOL.

The Walker campaign is desperate to avoid any discussion at all of their own candidate right now. Sure, Warnock is a weak candidate in his own right. This is one of the more pathetic elections in modern history.

Herschel Walker invited such scrutiny by lying about his academic achievements. So, yes, going back 40 years is fair game. He was the one who made his academic career an issue. Nobody cares that he wasn't a good student, or that he didn't graduate ... but he shouldn't have lied about something which is so easily fact-checked. It speaks to his judgment, as well as to his integrity. He should have known that the truth would come out during such a high profile election campaign. Lying about having a college degree was a very foolish thing for him to do.

Thank goodness EL has a credibility-battered, stunt double.

Like plagarism? Can easily be fact-checked and still be President! Might need to hold back on throwing the honesty and integrity stone and just pocket that one.

Correct ... I'm not defending anyone's dishonesty here.

The subject of this thread is Herschel Walker, however. If he didn't want his academic career discussed, then he shouldn't have touted bogus achievements. Once he lied about having a college degree, his academic career became fair game.

Please. What else did he lie about? You have been so focused on 30 seconds of a 13+ minute speech.

Whoa. Whoa. Whoa.

I’m no fan of Herschel, but you just completely made that up.

I’ve never heard a single story connecting him to academic corruption.

So because the subject is Herschel Walker, it cannot be discussed that the leader of the free world is not held to same standard of academic lies? Fair game is fine but need to polish that pot before it meets the kettle of this is the topic if you want to go all in on this week.

OPINION: Herschel Walker’s family values

“I know my mom and I would really appreciate if my father Herschel Walker stopped lying and making a mockery of us,” he wrote. “You’re not a ‘family man’ when you left us to bang a bunch of women, threatened to kill us, and had us move over 6 times in 6 months running from your violence.”

Lol… if you Google “Jan Kemp Herschel Walker” you get an article with this gem..,

She even has a favorite gridiron memory: the game-saving pass tossed in the final seconds against Florida in 1980. Her head was in her lap when it happened.

"I thought we were gonna lose," she says. "Georgia was behind. Then the crowd starts screaming and Bill (her husband of 17 years) grabs me off the bench and says, 'Lindsay Scott just scored a touchdown.' And I jumped to my feet and started yelling and screaming."

Soon, they were off to drive 10 hours to the Sugar Bowl to watch Herschel Walker, one of her top students, help bring home a national championship. "I wanted to be able to tell my grandchildren I was there," she says. "I followed the Dawgs around like a groupie."

Interesting that the young man has a different take on his dad through the years on his Twitter account. For a bad dad and all he gloats about his dad a lot.
