Same thing he's said for the last few weeks. The clearest translation is, "I'm not telling the opposition whether he's playing or not."Maybe overthinking it a bit, but this is the first time his “long-term outlook” has been mentioned:
(From todays presser)
Heupel on Cedric Tillman: We'll see where he's at tomorrow and on game day, will be up to Cedric and our medical staff for his short- and long-term outlook.
From the surgery. Yeah.My personal guess is still that he plays. Supposedly 3 or 4 weeks is typical to recover after that surgery. He is at or past that, right?
“Cedric, we will continue to evaluate here as he goes through practices this week,” Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel said Monday.
He would have been out longer if he didn’t get surgery. High ankle sprains are bad. Usually takes 2-3 months to heal. I just had one in July and at the end of September I was still feeling pain walking up the stairs. I didn’t do any rehab or anything and just let it heal on his own though.I am curious and I’m glad Heupel is looking out for Tillman’s long term health, as he should. But if he hadn’t had the surgery what is the likelihood that he could play tomorrow? I understand that the surgery will benefit him from possible reinjury but just comparing recovery times
They were about as dirty as we have seen but I think Tillman's injury was complete accident when he was blocking in the endzone and got rolled up with defender that wasn't engaged with him.I know it’s football and injuries happen. But every time I see Tillman miss a game or drops in a mock draft, I immediately think - Akron sucks.
