Thanks coach! Winning surely beats the hell out of losing. Unfortunately, we have a lot of fans that would rather lose if it looks pretty, than win even if it's not pretty. Unfortunately, we have a lot of stupid ass fans.

I will never forget suffering as a fan for 15 plus years. Literally suffering from crap football year in and year out.

Thank you for being at UT and thank you for making UT relavant again. Thank you for making UT cool again. Thank you for making UT win again. Thank you for making UT competitive again.

Before I hear all the sunshine pumper stuff, yall know I'm not a sunshine pumper. When I turn on a coach, I turn. I call it like I see it. Until proven otherwise, Heup is a top-notch coach.

This the complainer and microwave era in life no one believes in a process nor patience any more… I agree with you as you can see I always defend this staff as it is head and shoulders better than any staff we have had in the last 20+ years. And Tennessee is relevant and a top team again…

A lot of times people say, well it's not the coach. The coach can't make players catch the ball, tackle, block, etc. A lot of times that is true and a lot of times it is on the coach. It's on crappy coaches that can't coach, get their players in position to really make plays, or make in game adjustments. Most of the time, this staff puts players in the best positions to make plays. Sometimes they don't, usually they do.

Last night was a perfect example of this. Vols dropped 3 TD passes, missed 3 very makeable FGs and a fumble. All of these were purely due to lack of execution, not bad coaching.

Last two games are blowouts if the players execute 50% of the near miss plays. Sure is nice to be talking about “Well we should’ve blown them out,” instead of “we should’ve won” most of the time.

Literally no one has said this, nor do I believe any Vol fan believes this. This is a stupid post.

Then you don't go to games and don't hear fans bitch about how Heupel needs to go and that he's the problem. We have a either very greedy and selfish fan base, or many are just very dumb people. I heard tons of this talk at the Florida game and the UK game.

My point is that the fans I've heard bitching about this stuff are more concerned with how UT looks and performs than winning and yes we have TONS of fans that are moral victory type loser personalities. Meaning that even if UT loses, they still did xyz right and they looked great doing it.

So, we have fans that would FEEL better about themselves if the Vols pile up huge offensive numbers and say oh lose 52-51 type game as long as the offense is clicking than they would if the Vols pull out an ugly gritty win 28-18 over UK. Then, they'd get to focus their bitching efforts about firing the DC and defensive staff. This is true, we have many of these fans. Are you new to VolNation?

100% agree.....the Kitselman hit I'll give a pass because it was a great hit. But complete 2 of those 3 TD passes and just 2 of 3 FGs and we're at 48-18 and feeling good. Honestly it may have been more because Kentucky probably would have laid down at some point. As is, they were in it and believed up until about 3-4 mins left

People absolutely complain about how ugly a W is…

Did you read the Bama game thread? Mad we won by 7… there were a time in my Vol fandom I didn’t know if we would ever beat them again…

So yes, people absolutely complain about W’s…

More importantly, he is 18-11 in conference play good enough for a 62% winning percentage. And this includes wins against LSU (at LSU no less), Bama (2), Mizzou (2), UF (2), OU, and Texas A&M. Only a win vs UGA eludes us.... for now.

We are solidly a better program now than at any point since 2004.

I would love to see a quote with someone mad that we won. This was brought up after the Oklahoma or Florida win and I asked for some quotes and never got one. Please link a quote so we can call these people out

People forget that it is a competition, the other teams also have scholarship players, and those players also play hard. A lot of SEC games are battles.

That's not the same as saying "Some fans would rather lose if it looks pretty, than win ugly".

Just because we win doesn't mean there aren't genuine concerns. Thats why people complain after a win. Just because they don't exist in a euphoric malaise, pretending all is perfect and every comment should be nothing but optimistic praise, doesnt mean they would rather see us "lose but look good doing it." That's the comment I was referring to. Pure hyperbolic nonsense.

Heupel needs about 11 more seasons to catch Fulmer. If that happens, it will be interesting to see how they compare.

Agreed. If we are up even say 29-10 going into the fourth they would’ve mailed it in. But hey, we found a way to win. I don’t even think it was an “ugly” win, it just could’ve been better.

A win is a win but the o it problem I have had the last two years is there has been no improvement of discipline on the field. Still making stupid mistakes and same mistakes by both an older QB last year as we are having with a freshman QB this year. Those two things do come down to coaching. I agree coach is a winner but he needs to get the assistants to clean up the small things. The only coach I am not sold on is Hazle as he has yet to show a complete offensive game plan against a good team or QB growth. We went from scoring 40+ with Golesh to barely scoring 20.
