They won’t beat UGA again this year. UGA passed the ball 4 times in the second half because they just had to control the game. Let me restate that-they laid off the gas vs the number one team and played us like we play UK. Their offense looked like how we thought ours should. I’m tired of seeing smug Stetson and listening to that fanbase. They’ve made a legitimate case that our offense is a gimmick, even though it isn’t true, because they can simply say scoreboard. If we meet as 1 vs 4 in Atlanta, it’s going to be a similar score, but perhaps worse. We have no answer for either of their lines and that lets their qb look like Josh Allen. We also had no adjustments to their game plan, that was very well schemed. At this point in the season, our guys aren’t going to play better. Let’s be realistic and recognize that a better path for the program is for Oregon or someone else to advance and us to have a nice win in the Sugar Bowl. Next year will probably be a 9-3 type year and then maybe we can have a developed Nico and some better players the year after. That was as good a press conference as you could have considering the situation.
There is a very real chance (I think likely!) we will still be in playoffs and get to play these guys again. This loss stings now - but may bring unbelievable happiness in couple of months! If we learn to handle big games and deal with pressure and respond with our best football. We can beat Georgia if we play well. And I am calling it now, I think we will get better, deal with it better, learn as a team and I think we will get a 2nd shot and wim that one!
Very likely for a national champiomship!
As much as I don't want to admit it, I think you nailed it. 11-1 is still an INCREDIBLE season and COULD be the foundation for better things to come I don't expect much out of Milton next year and who knows if Nico pans out. Let's just be realistic and soak in what we have now! They won’t beat UGA again this year. UGA passed the ball 4 times in the second half because they just had to control the game. He also held the ball longer than he normally does. I know our guys weren’t running wide open but when they are covered he has to either tuck and run or throw the ball away. Way too many 2nd/3rd & longs.Yep - our qb wasn’t as accurate as he has been missing the long throws that he has been making lately. Hooker hits the long ones and we would have been in the game with a chance to win.
Bro I hear what you are saying.... However I will remind you that Alabama embarrassed Georgia last year only for that role to be reversed a month later. Our kids need to have that same pissed off mindset and play with their hair on fire. There is no room for the defeatist mindset. I say bring them on, they gave us an ass whipping we won't forget. Now learn from it, get to Atlanta and show the world. I believe we can and I can not bring myself to give up because they had a bad day. They won’t beat UGA again this year. I take nothing away from the year this team has had. There’s not been a UT football team that has over performed to this level in my lifetime and you’d be hard pressed to find a team in football that has played up as well as these guys in recent memory. The fact that me and others are having BVS about this game like we’re competitive is a testament to the team and coaches.Bro I hear what you are saying....
