Heupel proved to me tonight that he’s legit

And we had a LOT of the DBacks missing tonite ...
I'm curious what the interaction between the offense, particularly Hooker, and defense, particularly Jeremy Banks, was on the sidelines.

The TV cut several times to Hooker encouraging and talking with Milton but I didn't see any shots of Hooker and Banks or really Hooker with any of the defense. I get it. Hooker's prime job was to help keep Milton loose and level, but he's been a cheerleader for whole team, including the defense, all year.

All good and intriguing questions. Next season will tell alot about our coach in year 3 more of the roster will be his recruits. Is this success sustainable? I think it is although I expect us to take a small step back next season like to 8-4 but I think we will be fine going forward this coaching staff can coach up and develop talent.
I have seen player development and it appears he is recruiting well. The thing I love most though is how Heupel adjusted from last year to this one. The best example of that is the packages under center for short yardage situations and we’ve been very successful with it. That shows that Coach puts winning over his pride.

Guys usually don’t hang onto things. They had a tussle and that happens when you have passionate people working together in high stress situations. You get it out and then you move on.

56-0 against Vanderbilt always is satisfying. Suffering is not enough for those in black and gold.

The only question I have for the future right now is, can this offense beat the pressman on teams with above-average corners? Georgia and USC both leveraged their defense strengths at the corner and flat-out won all night. Can the offense design overcome it coaching or is it a matter, of athletes having to win on the outside only? Seems like a solid rushing game is an answer, but unless Wright and Sampson really break out, we don't have an RB that carry the game right now.
We can when those battles with a couple of great TE’s that can run. When teams do that you have to be able to work the middle of the field. Our current lack of speed at the tight end really hampers us working the seams. I would love a kid like the Taylor kid at LSU or the kid at Bama. Give us a couple of those types of TEs and watch the offense go to a different level.

They hung on to whatever happened long enough to tank our CFP hopes. That's consequences beyond a tussle and isn't going to leave the minds of these guys even years later, I'd think.

I hope it's all in the past and the effort was great. I would have liked to have seen shots of Hooker (or Milton) glad handing the D after a stop, as we saw earlier in the year and vice versa. That I didn't see it on TV doesn't mean it didn't happen..... and it looked like pretty miserable weather to be too active on the sidelines anyway.

If whatever it was happened right before leaving it’s possible it did linger for a little bit but it’s been more than a week now. Teammates have fights all the time. I’d be shocked if they’re still hanging onto it.

I'm aware teammates fight and jaw but that bad blood rarely spills onto the field on game day as dramatically as it seemed to last week.

I did notice Hadden was much more "take care of business" and less mouthy and Jeremy Banks had a great effort. Obviously, whatever the guys did and the coaches did worked to get the job done on the field.

It's been a great year and I hope the guys can really enjoy it together.
