Heupel says Nico in next week

I really don’t have the feeling of impending doom regarding Nico’s status. Either he’ll be fine or Gaston will have prepared all week to play. The already low chance of beating Georgia on the road with their backs against the wall doesn’t change significantly in my opinion. Nico hasn’t exactly lit the SEC on fire.

Heupel commented further on Iamaleava's injury during The Josh Heupel Show.

"Doctors, or really the trainer, just told me it was a precautionary measure, second half they wanted to hold him [out]," said Heupel. "I feel like he'll be ready to roll next week in Athens. It was a physical football game. A bunch of guys that in a conference game get dinged up. We're going to need everybody to get back healthy for that one."

I don't want the CFP Committee to have any excuse to screw us over regardless of the Georgia outcome

Vols aren’t getting in with a loss to Georgia with or without Nico. This game is our “play-in” game.
Hard to disagree with this thought. The harder part is a 2 loss Bama team will 100% get in before a 2 loss TN team, despite the unexpected losses being interestingly close opponent wise with theirs to Vandy and ours to the Pigs.

I’m expecting a low scoring defensive struggle Saturday where points will be at a premium and we are going to need Nico and Thornton out there to try to put some points up.
