I'm hurt deeply to read that. :cray:

I am a fan of Tennessee. I don't give a crap about Alabama, or Florida, or Georgia, or Auburn, or Louisiana State, or Kentucky, or South Carolina, or either of the two loser schools in Mississippi, or Arkansas, or Peabody. I'm a Tennessee man.

Rooting for the conference is a fraud. We recruit against these guys. It doesn't make us "look better" if they win; it makes us look better if we win our bowl game. F Alabama.

My hope is that Texas loses, and before the broadcast ends, the cameras catch a Bama player accepting a wad of cash from a booster as he heads into the tunnel.

Injuries are part of football though....aren't they?

I would root for pancreatic cancer if it were playing Alabama. F the SEC.

I wasn't questioning your rooting interests in any football game, I was sad you said f the SEC. Maybe Tennessee should secede to the CUSA.

I'm rooting against Texsucks. There's a difference.

If voldad didn't have his hand down hats pants he would have seen this. I would guess vol dad is about 200 pounds overweight, and had two friends in high school.

You're missing the point. Why should Tennessee fans root for Bama, a conference and recruiting rival, to get another boost to recruiting?

also another take is why should we root for a main rival to win a NC so they can come back and spend the next 8-9 months bragging about how they're better than us and everyone else

I'm missing your point since it makes no sense and doesn't relate to my post at all.

You are rooting for one of Tennessee's main rivals to win a national championship, which will undoubtedly aid their recruiting efforts. And you root for this rival simply so you can say, "Look at how good the SEC is!" The only way I'll root for an SEC team in the NCG is if that team is Tennessee.

How would you know what my rooting interest involved?

I'm only interested in the SEC as it adds to the glorification of the University of Tennessee. If it doesn't help us -- and rivals winning national championships does NOT help us -- then I'm against it. I want us to win. I want the teams that I rightfully detest to lose. What's the problem with that?

I used to always pull for the SEC,but lately I'm starting to believe what you just said. I don't have any data to back this up,but I'm guessing Alabama winning the MNC hurts us in recruiting more than any other team in the SEC winning it.

I could be wrong....but I doubt it.

Injuries are a part of football. Taking spiteful joy in them is not. I expected better from you, HatVol.
