I come in peace. :peace2: I am a Memphis and Vandy alum. You can imagine how I have felt about you all forever.

BUT I come here to say CONGRATS on your win over the Evil Empire. :rock: We here in Memphis loathe the X and the class he stole from us. We will be back next year with a vengeance, but until then, I appreciate you all taking them down.

Many of us here in Memphis used to consider you all our most despised nemesis. But for many of us, (not all), KY jelly has totally replaced you Vols on our radar screen.

I won't comment on the orange folks here in West Tennessee, but you all up there have been quite cordial to me on my last two forays into Knoxville for bb and football games. Whenever you play KY, I will be pulling for you. Good luck in the Big Dance.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to say, we have always known Pearl is a heck of a better coach than X.

What's the problem with orange folks in West Tennessee? And for you to say you've always known Coach Pearl is better than Cal is being largely disingenuous.

You should realize that you live in the state of Tennessee and that The University of Tennessee is Alpha and Omega...If you disagree(especially in Memphis) then drive 10 miles west or south. Arkansas or Mississippi...either way your S.O.L:eek:k:

And Football wise you could not have picked two worse schools to root for...just sayin

That simplistic formula doesn't always work out.
Example: Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein were enemies. The US wouldn't have called either of them friend.

Nope, not me, not disingenuous at all. The X didn't start winning big until he had been here several years and his recruiting started working. Kind of hard to lose with the caliber of players we had. Even then, he choked away a national championship and threw our game with Mizzou.

And West Tennessee Vol fans are truly obnoxious, maybe because most of them have never stepped foot on campus in Knoxville, or any college campus, for that matter. They wear blue in the winter and turn orange in the fall. And we all know that means they are neither fish nor fowl. You are either True Blue or Vol Orange. Agreed?

Just curious. Have you spent much time down here among the orange West Tennesseans?

Yep, it's been said we have the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation. But however you slice it, it's near the top.

There will be a lot of freshmen, but it should be fun.

I grew up a Tennessee fan in Bartlett (a suburb of Memphis). From my experiences, I can say that if anybody is obnoxious, it's the Memphis fans, with their "little brother" complex that manifests itself as hatred towards Tennessee.

It's understandable, though, because Memphis is inferior to Tennessee.

I get sick of Ole Miss fans in West Tn the most, but maybe that is just me.

Your idea of a compliment is calling people "obnoxious?"

I notice you didn't try to refute my point about Memphis fans having the "little brother" complex where Tennessee is concerned.

Also, for the OP, Memphis has never made it onto our radar as a team we hate. First you'd never play us, then when you did, we won our fair share despite your high rankings and NBA talent. You are but another school that hates UT, not a school that UT hates. Vols hate Bama, Florduh, UK, and maybe LSU. Vandy is higher on our rival list than your conference USA joke of a program. You should've thanked us for beating Kansas after the way you blew it in the big game, not that that victory would have stayed in the record books, you cheaters. Go eat some BBQ, as that is Memphis' only saving grace.

Little brother to who? How many times have the vols made it past the sweet 16? How many times have the vols consistently been a good basketball program? And now to make matters worse, look how the football team has faired these pasrt couple years!!!!(Decline)

Where do the Vols come to recruit players but always fail like their basketball program,(men that is)??? I'll answer that one for you, MEMPHIS!!!

Last question, when will knoxville produce some talent for us to come and steal!!! I can hear Pearl now calling Tyler Smith for back up.
