The problem with opening with a team like USU is that if you win, you were supposed to. It adds nothing to your resume, really. And in 6 weeks no one cares if you won that game.

But lose it, and the doomsdayers will come out of the woodwork.

I say that with a nod to the fact that UF has the same kind of opponent, although fact is that Idaho is so bad that its more like high risk, no reward.

Then again, we both need Ws against teams like these just to try to eek our way into bowl games. Yuck.

I would have said it's still better for you because there's absolutely no way Florida loses to Idaho.

But then I remembered Ga Southern :eek:lol:

I have full confidence Muschamp will screw up the season, again. I just hope we finally get the monkey off of our back with UF too.

The reward is getting game experience for freshmen or other players that might not get a chance in a tighter game. It gives them an opportunity to shine and possibly win a starting role. I think we win this game by 21 points and see a lot of new faces, but that's just me.

Arkansas State embodies the high risk-low reward statement more so than USU. According to everyone outside of Knoxville and Las Vegas, Tennessee is supposed to lose this Sunday's game.

Dangit, I hate to agree with you, except for the fact that THERE IS NO WAY UF LOOSES TO IDAHO. Ahem. There, I said it.

I hope UF wins 7 or 8. Just enough for Muschamp to keep his job and keep the Dooley train rolling...

You must have lazy doomsdayers. Ours work year-round, win or lose.:eek:lol:

I think it would have helped our SOS if we had to worry about things like that, because they are going to win more than they lose with their schedule. It's just another challenging team with our young squad.

I think this is correct. It would do a lot of good for all of our players to win over a decent opponent to start the season. If Tennessee can start playing with some confidence, that is when the proverbial corner can be turned.

Now, the risk is there, too. A loss would really hurt.

When this game was scheduled it was basically expected to be like the uf/idaho game.

I was expecting a WJS article written by a columnist on info supplied by an inside trader.

Perhaps. But as I say Idaho is do awful the Gator game isn't even registering on most fans' slate of interesting games for the weekend.

They might if Utah State goes on to win their conference. If Utah State ends up being a 7-win team, you're right.

Straightjacket for the entire state. Florida fans on suicide watch and FSU and UM fans dangerously drunk with joy.

I'll be straight up honest with you. I've enjoyed your posts over the years, but I don't care one way or the other if the Gators win or lose. I only opened this thread to look at your avatar.

No comparison. We have been hearing nothing but USU praises for months now. There is reward in handling this business on Sunday.

And we will do it with checkerboards on our shoulders....i'm not necessarily a fan of the new jersy we are wearing for the Florida game but that seems to be the way we are going
