"Take my word for it, these Commodores could knock off Tennessee. Possible. There have been seven road upsets of ranked SEC teams by the hot and bothered unranked. One more would absolutely wreck playoff hopes and plans. It would disrupt Heupel’s remarkable foundation, 30 victories in three years" Marvin West at his best, with the reasons Tennessee needs their best game on Saturday. It's Vandy's Super Bowl! New Mexico State was winning a few with Jerry Kill as coach and Tim Beck as offensive coordinator. For a few dollars more and comp tickets to the Grand Ole Opry, they moved to Nashville. LOL.

They rose up to defeat Alabama this year.
Yes, and OU and Florida as well. People always remember that USC game two years ago or Arkansas this year but how many games were we primed to stumble per media and we still got it done ? add LSU 2022 ? even NC State this year was suppose to be trap loss ...

It's our Super Bowl, as well.

Sadly, it is only happen to the SEC. Minnesota choked against Penn State. B1G looking good right now because their lower level teams cannot pull off upsets. SEC bottom feeders need to get the hint and roll over like the B1G bottom feeders for the good of the league lol.

That being said, to me this is Tennessee's first playoff game. It basically has the same stakes. We can consider it kind of like this first round march-madness play-in games.

What happened in the SEC last week was an embarrassment. If teams like Bama and the rest of the playoff pretenders want to wuss out against lesser competition, then let them. Heupel and Nico better be ready to lead the team and the fans into battle next week.

With all that is at stake for the Vols, this is game that will make or break Heupel. If God be for him, there will be a victory against Vandy.

I feel like we can't talk trash after wussing out at Arkansas and losing to Georgia and Kirby Smart for 100th straight year.

Beat Vandy and then I will feel better.

B1G is very top heavy. I was hoping adding the 4 Pac12 teams would make it a less top heavy league and it helped some. Issue is Michigan and USC ended up being train wrecks. Washington's off season was a train wreck. Those teams have just sucked against the top competition and opened the door for these 11-1 weak B1G teams.

"Diego Pavia is captain of the threat. Tennessee has not demonstrated great strategy at containing mobile quarterbacks. This one is mobile. If you are comfortable sending notes to defensive coordinator Tim Banks, mention the possibility of assigning a spy. It will help some if the defensive front doesn’t jump offsides."

Every game from here on is single elimination tournament.

Since the days of Jim Delany (mastermind of the disastrous BCS), the Big 10 has operated like a collective money-making machine with guaranteed appearances in major post season bowls, expanded contracts and league, etc. even though they continue to lose the big games. Wouldn't surprise me if this is an unspoken rule in that league. Fun fact: the only Big 10 teams to win a natty since 1989 (Delany's first year) are OSU and Michigan for a combined total of 3. And yet they are the richest league with more money than the SEC.

During the same time period, the SEC won 17 natties, from six different teams: AL, GA, LSU, AU, FL, and TN. Hopefully Sankey has the same mindset.

How was NC State ever a “trap loss” when it was sandwiched between UTC and Kent State? If any game has ever been the opposite of a trap game, it was that one.

He also beat a ranked and good Pitt team on the road. And a #18 Kentucky team on the road.

It's actually funny that the Arkansas (bad loss) is still a better team than anything Indiana has played up until Ohio State.

tOSU and Michigan are the biggest brands in CFB IMO. Texas makes more money but I think both of them have a big following. Nebraska, Penn State, Oregon, and USC have great followings. Iowa and Wisconsin have decent followings. It is the Indiana/Illinois teams of the B1G that come off as dead weights along with Maryland and Rutgers.

Vandy beat a below-average Alabama team and played an overrated Texas team close.

Milroe had 15 yards on 11 carries v the Vols.

This. Actually the only QB who had success against us was a non-runner (Carson Beck) .. so not sure what Westwords is saying about TN struggling against running QBs ? Does he even watch the game ??
