I just have big issues with a kid who has that bad of a shooting percentage in high school. It doesn't get easier in college.

Oh there's definitely some questions with Landry, no doubt.

I'm just sick of not having a backup who can 1. Dribble 2. Pass 3. Defend. It's been a problem for 2 years, if that's all Landry can do and can't shoot I'll take it.

That's all well and good for next season. We'll be putting ALL our eggs in eggs in the bringing in a stud PG basket next year. 2014 could end up with some really ugly PG depth if we don't get somebody elite who can step in and start from day one.

It's a must. CCM has to bring in a PG who can play as a frosh for 2014, point blank.

Unless he adds a PG in the spring (transfer, juco etc.)

Average 10-15 minutes a game likely, as your starter probably plays 30, and could miss some due to injuries.

Not a waste IMO, as I said, most teams have atleast one or two scholarship career backups.

Yemi is likely a career backup, is he a waste?Bone was a career backup, I wouldn't call him a waste of a scholarship.

JMO

Bone started as a walk-on. Yemi is the type of guy worth gambling on because of his size and his general lack of experience. Landry has been playing ball all his life and there should be no unexpected spike in ability like there could be with a guy like Yemi who is still relatively new to the sport altogether.

We have had this discussion before. I'm just not a big fan of offering players with the vision of them being a career backup from the get-go. At this level, you should recruit players you feel can start, and if they can't, they prepare as though they could start at any moment. Perhaps CCM sees something in Landry we don't. He obviously saw it in Yemi, who didn't even start for his HS team, and Reese who didn't avg double figures for his. Both certainly look to have carved out a niche.

His stats showed 3 career starts.

And yea good point.
