We took the train along the river. It's 1250 feet down. My understanding is the bridge was built on a bet that it couldn't be done?basically yeah. You can walk across it. My wife made it across. I made it about 100ft and was like screw this. Was windy as hell and it was shaking. Bridge goes over the Arkansas River which you can see in one of the photos I posted. It was about 1,000 ft down.
Wow looks like a Great time and Great pictures too!Huntfish Falls on Sunday. Did the short trail so the kids wouldnt gripe too much. Like always they love the destination but grumble about the walking if it goes on too long. There was a fair amount people down there but still plenty of area to spread out and enjoy the falls.

I would frame that Great picture with the kids standing on the rocks with the clouds.............Short hike to the top. Just 1.2 mi up but kinda steep. And terrible parking. Despite seeing a dozen or so groups on the way up, the top is actually spread out and we got some moments to ourselves. Some of the best views I’ve ever seen will definitely return to this one at some point View attachment 298377View attachment 298379View attachment 298378
Beautiful........Waldo lake in the Cascade mountains in Oregon. Waldo sits at an elevation of 5414 feet and is one of the purest lakes in the world. No motorized boats are allowed on the lake. It's crystal clear. Visit after labor day unless you like mosquitoes LOL

As you most likely have read, we're battling wild fires of the worst kind here in Oregon. These two pictures are from the McKenzie River, a river I rowed for over 30 years, a river that my granddaughter was named after and finally, the river gorge that is currently the home to the HOLIDAY FARM FIRE. My heart aches at what we will find once we are allowed to go up this river again. Holiday Farm was a resort on the edge of the river, my wife and I spent several anniversaries there. Rafting and fly fishing our way down the river to celebrate our anniversary. This is the river where we've both said we want our ashes spread (yea, we're old), but this is our river and it's burning!!
