Couple years ago a winter wind storm took down some nice Douglas Firs. Volunteers keep these trails open.

Waldo Lake, considered possibly the cleanest lake in the world. Elevation 5400 ft, this is a 10 square mile lake with a maximum depth of 420 feet. No motorized craft are allowed on the lake. The water is so clear you can see down over 100 feet.

Yea, we have some a pretty beautiful places to hike. Just had about 200 Canada Geese landed on the Lacrosse field behind my house. Life is good. Just got to stay safe with the Covid and all.

I’ve only been as par west as Yellowstone. You don’t see giant trees like that around here. Doing some trails on the PCT is on the bucket list.

Most of the big trees have been harvested. Only a few areas where you see bigger trees like those.

Had a nice winter hike at Massie Gap in Grayson Highlands State Park. Last time we were here it was super foggy and we didn’t get any of the great views. This time was a beautiful, but cold, day.
