I know we have hockey fans on board, and the playoffs are around the corner, I'm a pens fan. Who do you support and what do you think?

I've turned into a Leafs fan this season... they have to win tonight and have the Islanders lose tomorrow just to get in, I believe.

I've no idea who will actually win... literally just get into the NHL playoffs and you could win it all. I'll guess one of the top 4 or 5 teams in the West.

I'm excited to see these young guys play tid, it's exciting for the burgh big hockey town but football does rule.

Didn't the Penguins start off just horribly this season? They really turned it around.

i don't think with the way Detroit started off as well, that anybody would have figured they'd be first in the West going in to the playoffs.

oh yeah, for the most part, there's only hockey fans on the board here when the Preds are doing good. :peace2:

of course i'm going to say i like the chances of the Wings to win it all!!!

RANGERS...hope we get the 6 and beat Atlanta, so we have some momentum going into the Jersey series

No offense, but I may hate the Penguins more than any team in professional sports. I started following hockey when I lived in DC, and the Caps' perennial playoff woes against the Penguins seared eternal hatred of that group of Lemeiux/Jagr Euro-sissies into my brain. The four-overtime game in 1996 is one of the five worst sporting events of my life. Any hockey fan knows how deep hatreds forged in the playoffs can run.

I am now a Thrashers fan. (I switched wholly over to the local team when the Caps traded for that loser Jagr and dumped most of the players I knew when I lived up there.) I'm excited that they're FINALLY making the playoffs for the first time this year, and I'm optimistic that they'll bounce the Rangers in the first round, but I think this is Buffalo's year.

The Leafs took care of their part tonight... just gotta hope the Devils beat the Islanders tomorrow. Judging by the standings, it doesn't appear the Devils have much to play for so I'm not liking their chances of winning.

Well, the Leafs season just ended. The Devils scored literally in the last second to force OT against the Islanders, but lost in the shootout. Bummer.

Will root for the Preds. Don't get into regular season hockey but NHL post-season hockey is awesome.

My Flyers had one of their worst years in franchise history...I despise the Redwings so...

Predator fans make my skin crawl and blood curdle. They were especially incorrigible up until the last couple weeks of the season. The girlfriend turned me on to the Leafs. Love the tradition of the franchise and whatnot.

please, explain why they were so bad but aren't now. the reason never gets old for me.

I could not root for a team whose mascot is a leaf. Yeah! Go leaves! We're gonna fall on you and then fall to the ground!
