I haven't kept up with the coaching rumors much through Christmas, but I thought Leach was all but a done deal at Maryland even before Frigeon was fired. What happened to Leach being the guy at Maryland?

Leach is still on the Maryland radar, although the rumors have been swirling that he may take the OC position at OK St if things don't work out at MD. With his Under Armor connection, and the fact that Maryland is willing to have a cussing egomaniac as it's coach (see: Gary Williams and Frieg), it's a logical fit. I personally wouldn't want Leach anywhere near my program.

I think Harbaugh gets an NFL job. Hoke has said that Michigan is his dream job.

I think the NFL comes after Harbaugh too but hasn't he also said Michigan is his dream job? I think Harbaugh is crazy enough to turn down an NFL gig for the Michigan job.

Michigan is his alma mater so it very well could be his dream job. Your scenario is certainly possible.

IMO, Rich Rod will leave Michigan after the bowl game to avoid being fired. He will take the Maryland job. This will leave the Michigan job open for someone that is a Michigan guy--Brady Hoke. The Michigan fans will react similarly to how Tennessee fans did when Dooley was hired. Hoke is a good coach, who could bring a good staff with him to Michigan. I believe that would be a blessing in disguise for the fans of the Michigan fooltabll team. Harbaugh will stay out west...I believe with the San Francisco 49ers.

rich rod ain't going to maryland. first off if he has half a brain he'll make michigan pay his buyout. second he can get a better job than maryland.

Rich Rod needs a place where he can make himself look more appealing as a head coach, meaning back at a place on the level of WVU. I guess we will see.

You mean a third of their fans will be in wrist-slitting mode, a third will be hopeful, but skeptical, and a third will be blindly optimistic about his future?

Michigan would be idiotic to turn down Harbaugh if they think they can get him for at least 5 years.

The RichRod camp made the first contact with Maryland.

Got that on fairly good authority.

He would be a horrible fit. O'Brien would transfer. 4 year turn around period. Not what they need.

Sumlin, Edsall, Leach, Childress (yeah I know), Locksley (total courtesy interview) +2 more wild cards are supposed to be the interviews.

Gramthams name popped up too. Ugh.

maryland can't afford his salary. i very much doubt he's walking away from that type of money.

I never said that Michigan would turn down Harbaugh. I think it is an assumption that he would coach the Wolverines. If he leaves Stanford it will be to the NFl.

No but Kevin Plank can.

His camp reached out to Maryland. Not vice versa. I think UMD has your concern as well as mass transfers in mind.

I would be very surprised to see him in College Park.

Didnt Maryland's AD say the change was based on renewing the excitement surrounding the team? If so, I think RR would fit in that regard. His offense is exciting to watch when he can field the right personnel. Im just stating my opinion of how it will pan out.

as for plank if he wasnt' willing to pay the money last year to buy out fridgen why would he be willing to pay up for a coach this year?

Different AD and NO James Franklin as HCIW. Franklin was Debbie Yows boy...Plank wanted no part in that mess. Suck to be NC state.

When an AD with the swinging set of nuts to tell both Franklin and Fridge to take a hike showed up...Plank got interested.

He's paying for at least a good portion of this little foray into the jungle

Yeah...when he can field the right personnel. UMD does not have that personel. Years of pro style and west coast offense. The biggest thing they have going is QB Danny O'Brien.....that cat is not playing for RichRod.

No one wants a 4 year turn around when they have the pieces in place for another 9-10 win season next year.
