I dunno how you can like VT if you are a Tennessee fan. There is just no comparison. Neyland to their rinky dink barnyard.

NET?

Anyway, I like Beamer because his teams are always well coached. The program was nothing before him, and while he hasn't won a National Title or anything, they've come a long way.

They've won a few conference titles under him, played for a NT, and are becoming more consistent year in and year out.

Are they in the historical tier with the Miamis, Oklahomas, Tennessees? No, but they're respectable under Beamer, which is saying a lot for VPI.

WTF is wrong with you? There is no team that will ever come close to touching UT in my book. Ever. Ever. Ever.

But it IS okay to like other schools and root for them.

It's also ok to dislike other schools. Living here has made me dislike the VT group too. It's a much different feeling than when I used to feel bad for the ASU fans.

Please don't lump me into the same group as FF though

Who said I lived in the ATL? Anyway, I like Oregon, USC, Nebraska, Miami (FL), Florida State, Clemson, UVA, West VA, and the 2 time defending D1AA National Champions=Appalachian State.

The arrogance of Hokie fans drives me insane. They think they deserve to be historically ranked with USC, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Miami, Nebraska, and so on and they constantly say they would beat UT and go undefeated in the SEC. CHOKIES. :bad:

that's what living in the middle of nowhere does to a fanbase. V Tech, West Virginia, Boise State, Hawaii, all examples of delusional fanbases who think they are deserving of far more respect than they get.

I don't lump you in with him. Nooooo way. I know it's okay for people to dislike VT or any school for that matter.

I just think FF is ridiculous. "How can you like VT?" Because I do. If we all had the same opinions, we'd all be pretty bored.

The main reason I started liking UT as a kid is because of the flash and glamour. I loved the orange, the Oakley visors, the checkerboard endones, the River, Jon Ward, Peyton Manning, National champions, the tradition. VT just has no tradition so I could not see why a UT fan would like VT.

I live in NET and can't stand them either. Mainly because they like to talk about the bad things that happen to UT. Also, prior to mid 90's, none of them were fans. My cousin went to VT and I have to listen how they beat James Madison and how good they looked doing it. They do have a good defense and special teams every year.

If we can only like teams with more tradition and a bigger stadium than us, we can only like Michigan and Penn State.

Do you want to know how someone can like VT: different opinions and interests. That's how. Get over it.

YOu are entitled to your opinion to liking VT, but being out in Arizona, you do not know how much bull VT says about UT. It is just a big border rivalry I guess.

LOL

I lived in Knoxville for 18 years. Not the Tri-Cities, though. It's okay you dislike them. I understand why.

I hate VT also(I live in KPT) but I respect them. They have a talented team and are coached very well.

I wanted to add to VT thinking UGA spied on them. If you remember when UT played Clemson in the Peach Bowl CPF said the same thing that Beamer said. A lot of people(ppl they didn't know)were watching practice. He gave an example of a trick play they worked on in practice and every time they lined up in that formation(if I remember right they tried to run it like three times) Clemson defended it PERFECTLY.:dunno:
