Does anyone every consider what the outcome of the UTC/Texas games would've been if Izzy plays?????

She is our best player by far, and I honestly think we win both with her. We are not a team full of "go-to" type players, so when our one doesn't play, it reflects in the outcome.

Texas probably would have still beaten us (they are very good), but we should have taken care of UTC with or without Izzy.

I think we needed the Texas game to show us how bad the defense was. Since that game, the defense has improved drastically.

Ok so here is my opinion. I appreciate the hard work the players have done in the last few games. I truly believe they want to win. My problem is the way in which we are still not a very consistent ball team. Our offense is totally as roddo said freelance community center basketball. We have the talent to get this done against so-so teams. When we get against seasoned teams, we know who they are, we cannot get away with church-league basketball and expect a win.

I agree about the offense and the 3 point shot at times is the correct play. We never went to one. You can crush a teams will. I thought when we were up by 5 with about 5 or so minutes, it would be nice for a set up play for a wide open 3 pointer, instead we passed it around and eventually turned it over. There were other times as well, but that one stuck out in my mind. Uconn does it better than anyone. When they go on a lil run, it almost always ends with a break your back in your face trey.

We will agree to disagree on the Texas game. I think Izzy brings more than just her ability to produce mismatches offensively and her back-line defense/rebounding. She plays hard and is the teams enforcer/leader.

Basketball is a lot of mental attitude, and Izzy, because she is our best player, and plays extremely hard/tough, forces others to play at that level. The Texas and UTC games are totally different with her IMO.

I'm not sure that Texas is better than Rutgers, Stanford, or Oregon State. We played them with Izzy, so we looked better.

Holly is blessed and doomed at the same time. She is blessed because she was handed a great program and great players. She is doomed because she is following a legend and the overall competition of women's BB is improving exponentially. We can speculate that this coach or that coach would be better, but any of them would not be a sure thing these days. I vote to stick with our team and our coach until they prove themselves one way or the other.

That is one of the many problems a coach faces when he/she takes over a storied program coached by a legendary coach. No matter what you do, it is just not good enough. Holly has to ignore the nay sayers and coach the best she can. The job is a pressure cooker and more pressure than most of us can handle. Wrong or right most fans want it all. Knowing all that, and accepting the job, Holly must keep her coaching on the cutting edge. In the last three games we should be happy with what we are seeing especially on defense. The offense still needs to find itself or our chance at a final four will be in question.
