I've not been a big Holly fan BUT if we are gonna blame her when the team played awful this season, then we should give her credit now that they are playing good!

Looking better but still must get to the Final Four. That is the bar for this talented team.

No matter the reason for this team's turnaround, it is only right to give Holly the credit. What we should be doing is enjoying this amazing turnaround that this program is showing. A couple of times they could have collapsed, especially when we decided to rest most of our starters with over five minutes to go, however, to Holly's credit, she put back in the team that placed her on this magical ride. I do not believed that would have happened a month ago. The big thing is Russell is finally playing up to her potential and Diamond has stepped up as a leader.

This just in Lady Vols in the Elite 8. Can we not just enjoy that? Of the teams they have faced to this point Syracuse is the worst one. No reason to believe they cannot get to the final 4. Then face either Washington or Stanford who they match up well with both.

Go Lady Vols!

We're playing like we should have been playing from the get-go. We have taller, more athletic, better players than nearly everybody--asu, ohio state, just about everybody but connecticut. We are a tall and talented bunch that played like crap for most of the year--and that is coaching. So I'm not going to start lauding Warlick for some brilliant coaching job in the tourney. I'm happy for her and the team and the fans. Keep it up.

We do. However, a team this talented should not have been so mediocre during the regular season. Glad they have come around, but a historical standard of excellence had been set before these players were born. And they were aware of it when they came in here. They should have been playing stronger all season long, and everyone knows it.

So don't hand us a self righteous "give her credit" line. It's boring and weak. Expect excellence. Demand it. Celebrate when it happens. Raise hell when it doesn't. And if they can't take the heat?

OP is right. If the failure of the team is the sole fault of the HC. Which 95% of the criticism has been pointed that way. Then to be consistent, she should be getting 95% of the praise when the team is playing great.

Cuonzo v2.0. :-D

Shamefully admit I haven't followed the LV's closely since Pat retired. So does this run mean Holly gets to stay? Either way, proud of our women!

The consensus is she will be here next year. Mr Hart likes her as the coach...so far...:)

GO LADY VOLS AND HOLLY AND STAFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't help thinking how much this season for Holly parallels Cuonzo's last season at UT when he was getting hammered all season by fans for poor coaching (and rightfully so) yet somehow managed to get the Vols all the way to the Sweet Sixteen.

Except Cuonzo took over a team that had recently done very well and did absolutely nothing of note. I haven't been kind to Warlick tbos season myself, but she took over from a true legend and has to live up to it. Cuonzo sure as hell didn't sniff the round of 8.

Yes he did. Not a Cuonzo fan...but we had Michigan beat that year to make the elite 8. I thought a bad call against Jarnell cost us the elite 8 that year.
