OP is right. If the failure of the team is the sole fault of the HC. Which 95% of the criticism has been pointed that way. Then to be consistent, she should be getting 95% of the praise when the team is playing great.

UCONN only scares those who haven't grown with the game,,, Namely most of women's BB... They are simply playing the style of game that the men have played forever.

But "girls can't do that like boys".... We're seeing it folks. I have been teaching 12 year old girls to do 1-dribble layups from every point of the arc, using only their on-ball hand, no use of the off-hand,,, I teach 12 year old girls to shoot from above the temple, run givengo's, picknrolls, no-look passes and full-contact layups... Girls/womens BB has grown. Grow with it or watch it grow away from you.!

The lady Vols are playing that very same brand of BB right now.... I never knew Nared could be a stopper, but she shut down the highest scorer in the tournament... I am ready to give her a go with Breanna. And ball movement? The LV's moved that ball to perfection.

UCONN is in the category of "MJ, Shaq, John Wooden, and now the GS Warriors and Steph Curry", During all of their reins, people yell "they are bad for the game"... But years later when fans think back and long for such a superstar they think on these eras. They are in control of the movement of the game for the moment.

You don't beat a team like UCONN by hero worshipping them.... You beat them by putting them on your level mentally and physically. When you put them on a pedestal, you look up to them from the opening tip... Yes... We don't have a Breanna Stewart, and ...
And they don't have a Diamond DeSheilds.

You play the hand dealt you. And folks, I have witnessed a pair beating three of a kind before, so it can happen.

I've not been a big Holly fan BUT if we are gonna blame her when the team played awful this season, then we should give her credit now that they are playing good!

I agree we should. She's coaching better and the team has seemed to have found some chemistry. Why has Russell just now started to play aggressively? Why have they now started hitting shots? Why are they now playing good defense? If they make it to the FF then Holly should get a little bit of a reprieve but she needs to start signing some more good players. The cupboard is going to run bare pretty soon if she doesn't start getting some recruits.

Glad they have come around, but a historical standard of excellence had been set before these players were born. And they were aware of it when they came in here. They should have been playing stronger all season long, and everyone knows it.

So don't hand us a self righteous "give her credit" line. It's boring and weak. Expect excellence. Demand it. Celebrate when it happens. Raise hell when it doesn't. And if they can't take the heat?

Except Cuonzo took over a team that had recently done very well and did absolutely nothing of note. I haven't been kind to Warlick tbos season myself, but she took over from a true legend and has to live up to it. Cuonzo sure as hell didn't sniff the round of 8.

I think the big issue with CCM was his team had three players who are now in the NBA and he struggled all year and cards fell right for him to stumble into sweet sixteen. CHW teams seems to have made a complete turn around.,,,,
