Hart has to know Holly sucks as a head coach, but it is a women's program so who cares. To show togetherness let's take the name Lady part from the women's athletic program except for the ladies' basketball program. Once Holly screws it up Hart can then take Lady out of the Women's basketball program. The question is why? That is not happening at other universities and colleges. Does the University really care about Women's sports? I am a man and I am proud to say I am proud of the Lady Vols.

I don't want to waste time defending Hart but Holly Warlick was the logical choice in 2012 and she is what Pat Summitt wanted as a successor. Does that make it the right choice? No and if her teams continue to underachieve and there are more recruiting losses then a change needs to be made. As far as the nickname is concerned, the women's basketball team will still keep Lady Vols and any statements claiming that will change in the future are just speculation and cynicism. However, you should also know that the trend for many years has been for universities to take the "Lady" out of the nicknames of women's teams and have a uniform name. It actually makes good marketing sense. I believe Georgia is the only other SEC team that still uses "Lady" for their women's basketball team or for any women's team.

Conspiracy theories, you know the women's bball team started its slide under Hamilton. You guys are hilarious though its like watching the young and the restless everyday

YOU can not be more wrong............Holly Warlick was NOT her choice to replace her. Period. If you think that, you are not paying attention. :hi:

Actually it was kinda like a coach in waiting. Especially with the sudden and sad news that Pat received.

Didn't she basically lobby for Holly to take over?

I'm confused!!!!

Are you suggesting that Pat wanted her fired or replaced?

I don't recall Pat not supporting Holly.

Please provide substance if we are wrong.....

All I know is you can't lose to UTC ever. If I'm AD and you lose to them with this kind of talent I have to replace you. If you can't make better decisions with the personnel on the team you have to go. Keeping our top scorer on the bench and allowing her to play only eleven minutes is about as stupid a decision as a coach can make.

Tennessee had not lost to UTC since 1973 until Holly took over. Now we've lost 2 of the last 3 against them.

Exactly my point her losing to them proves her ability to coach. Their talent level is around top 100 it should never happen.

The sky has been falling for the last three years. Look around you look at the number of recruits who chose other programs over the Lady Vols. I am sure Holly is a good person, but that does not make her a big time coach for a big time program. Why are there two unfilled scholarships still open for the upcoming year? Simply she is over her head. I am not winning for the sake of winning, I want to see us go upward and not downward. Maybe I am over concerned and Holly will win 9 championships in a row. I don't know about your viewpoint but mine is not so trusting.

She can win 20 games a season and get to the elite eight or sweet sixteen with superior talent. I don't think she has the ability to win the National title. We should have beaten Maryland last season no excuse to lose in that game. Then the debacle of losing to Chattanooga twice in three seasons is proof she is not capable.

I'm pretty sure Holly WAS PS's choice--but mostly out of loyalty and friendship. DeMoss has more coaching chops than Holly, didn't get the job. We'll know a lot after this year.

Demoss never wanted the Tennessee head coaching job, and that came directly from her lips..

Holly had said for years she Didn't want to be a HEAD Coach. She turned down the opportunity for at least 3 good jobs. She was not picked to be CPS replacement, it fell into her lap and she was smart enough to take it. Hart was dumb enough to let her!! :hi:

Do you have a link to a quote where she "said" this or are we just supposed to trust that you're privy to her private comments? I don't doubt she turned down jobs elsewhere but I don't believe for a minute that she didn't always want to succeed Summitt at Tennessee.

The part in bold is a contradiction and makes no sense at all.
