Turnovers, missed shots, selfishness, and bad attitudes seem to be the underlying problems. This team is not very good, no matter who is the head coach.

Everything you listed is directly related to coaching, yes she is the problem.

Who recruited those players? Who coached them? Who made the game plan? and who left those players on the Court who didn't execute the game plan?

The product on the field of play is ALWAYS a direct reflection of coaching.

It's coaching, or lack there of. And I'm usually the one to give coaches the benefit of the doubt. I still wish we had fulmer as head football coach and I think he was unfairly let go, but holly is just baaaaad

Anyone whose played sports knows that is as much mental as physical. The staff unfortunately appears to have lost these kids. They seem unsure and gun shy in so many aspects of the game.

You don't think we'd play better with, say, Muffet McGraw as coach? We'd be at least 50 percent better. She'd wring out all the DUMB out of our team--and there is helluva lot of it, from coaches and players--and inject a lot of fundamentals and smarts. Or how about Geno: he'd be in every player's face EVERY DAY until they stopped playing like pansies.

While I agree with the responders, the OP has a point we have landed top players who haven't turned out to be top players I.E Russell

Could Holly be better? Yes
But the players are a HUGE problem (base talent not just coaching)

they have a long hill to climb before they reach the level of playing like pansies. More like stink weeds.

We really have to stop defending Holly. She has the talent. She gets paid to get everyone on the same page and to buy into her way of coaching. I never heard of a coach that speak as though players have so much to do with the direction of the team. The head is supposed to lead. Then commentator said it best. Tennessee did not get one of their target recruits. That has never happened. That means others see what some are slow to admit. I hope Hart is paying attention.:bash::fool:

Do you think for one freaking second that if Geno Auriemma had Diamond Deshields, Bashaara Graves, Mercedes Russell, Tea Cooper, Jaime Naired, etc., etc., that he would have this problem? Yes, Yes, Holly Warlick is the problem!! Not because she's a bad person, but because she lacks what is needed in a highly paid head coach. There, I said it.

Doesn't look like all those years of being side by side with CPS rubbed off on Holly one bit.

These players are not motivated to play for Holly, so yes she is the problem. Get this group under better coaches like Muffet, Vanderveer, Frese, Mulkey and I bet they play to their potential. It's sad to see Mercedes, a #1 recruit, run around on the court like she doesn't know what to do! These girls come out of high school with lots of talent, but they're still raw and they need to be motivated and nurtured for the next level. Summitt was a legend at that and there are many college coaches today who are great at it. You simply can't place all the blame on these young women and expect none to be on Warlick!

If she's innocent, then so is Dooley. Also she has the problem of following the legend. Just as Zook, Muschamp, Kiffin, et al were doomed by following great coaches, Warlick could never live up to expectations. After her implosion, the next coach will have a better chance. Who followed Dean Smith? I don't know but he burned out pretty quick I bet.

Holly is certainly the problem. Attitude, poor shot selection, no offensive sets at all. I saw McGraw up by thirteen, meet one of her girls on the court at a time out after a missed assignment, and there was no pat on the back. She is one of the WORST coaches that I have seen in the NCAA, and certainly the worst in the SEC. Two weeks and out of the top 25. If you are a supporter of her, then you are a Holly fan and not a Lady Vol fan. I don't listen to Doris Burke very often, but she as much said that the staff had to take responsibility. Middleton could not start for our high school team. I guess that is enough after all you saw Notre Dame Play. We would have easily lost by 30 if she had not put in reserves.
