We got what we wanted, they got what they wanted (I think). I wish them good health moving forward.

It ended up working best for both Tennessee and Burns. He went to Wake and had an excellent year. Him leaving is pretty much what allowed Zander to become the Sunday starter and it was awesome to see him thrive in that role. We don’t win a natty without him.
He only had an excellent year because he got to play in a brand new conference. SEC coaching staffs are on another level whenever it comes to scouting. LSU said they spent their entire offseason scouting our weekend pitchers after the 2022 season. Looks like everyone else in the conference did the same thing. Usually you are rolling out new names on an annual basis but we were rolling out the same pitchers from the previous year so everyone knew what to expect. The ACC will probably never see a pitcher with Burns’ stuff again. They aren’t used to seeing guys like that. Nearly every team in the SEC has at least 1 stud pitcher.

Not on purpose but do you think TV made a little dig at Burns during the interview when he said to all you kids out there just be a good team mate. The thought just crossed my mind when i was reading all the comments.
No . Think he was saying what needs to be there besides ability.

For those saying things about the ACC, they are an excellent conference. They matched the SEC in teams that made the CWS. The SEC is just on a different level with depth of pitching. Burns would have been a stud in the SEC had he stayed In the SEC.
