Then back over him and run over him again.

The timing of that interview sucked. Should have either not granted the interview or said no comment. Sabotaged the tournament for the team, as if they needed another distraction. That was either done without thinking or he's just a jerk. Distancing himself from Bruce to save his own hide.

I wonder if he won't take advantage of the opportunity to play the victim. He certainly is no victim, but with so much attention on Hamilton's comments and timing, Pearl could use this is a forum for playing the sympathy card, confirm he is leaving, and rally the troops for one last run. Not sure how he will handle it. I wish he would just confirm it and let all know this is his last stand at UT

Exactly, Tennessee needs to clean house. If Bruce is gone, so be it. If Tennessee was smart, Hamilton will be next.

No one is getting Pearl for two years.

Not necessarily true. If he resigns he might not be hit with a show cause or if he stays they will have to place a suspension on him.

Will we look like Indiana post Sampson debacle now with our depleted roster? Creen is a great coach, but this is his third year at a school with alot more tradition than us and he only won 2 games in the big 10.

oh yes, we will resemble i u. just look at the 9 or 10 returning players for next season counting the two freshmen. be lucky to break out at .500 next year.

I don't have much faith that they're that smart. I think it needs a makeover entirely. Whoever is really making the decisions doesn't need to be apparently.

Pearl's media access later today will be classic. The only thing that stinks is that most of the New York guys will be elsewhere covering St. John's. That's tragic. Watching actual professional media question Pearl would be worth firing up the DVR. Griff and Rucker will probably just pretend nothing has happened and ask Pearl what he had for dinner and what his plans are for St. Patrick's Day.

They will probably be giving him credit for making the tournament despite being suspended.

The 'AA doesn't care if he resigns or not. Kelvin Sampson was no longer employed when they slapped a show cause on him.

I agree, but as a long as I can remember, we have never had a smart athletic dept. It seems things have always been done in odd ways. I also have issues with the "in-house" mentality. I love having people who love UT, but I think having an AD with no personal ties to people in the dept would be good at this point. Basilio had an interesting point on what UT athletic dept did to Ray Mears, which to me says this is just how the dept runs, Hamilton or not. I am all for a new AD. I wanted Jurich before Hamilton, and stil do. Made a bad hire with Kragthorpe but has redeemed himself with Strong.

I think the case is that he will be no longer employed because we know how hard he will possibly get hit. Nothing about his current employment will change his penalties. Hopefully it lightens the university's load.

I was agreeing with you. Mears would be your other coach in the argument.

Once again hatvol....just go look at yourself in the mirror and keep telling yourself that any thinking people actually care what a 400 lb blowhard with no life other than trying to make other people miserable. I'm ok with Pearl getting fired...but I certainly would never celebrate the destroying of a person's career...even if they had a lot to do with that destruction. Go suck an egg.

I'll bet he shows more class than you ever have on this board or otherwise. Its hard to show class when you obviously have none.We all know your pulling for Mich. and real Vol fans know your agenda.

It's the same things, time and again, yet I never get tired of reading these exchanges.
