You missed the whole point. All of those players were 3-4 year players that took time to develop. Grant was the only one and he is perfect for Barnes’ preferred inside out offense. Phillips is not that and his lack of development is apparent. Barnes may have known offense back in the day. But the game has completely changed and it’s clear he hasn’t changed with itI guess Schofield, Williams, Bone and Bowden wern’t weapons. Led the league in offense when they were here. Barnes knows how to coach offense. The problem is these guys are not good offensive players. Also the point guard was out which made a huge difference. A valid criticism in this instance would be his recruitment. That is not to say he did not try to get better offensive players and couldn’t.
