Honestly, ready for some roster turnover

I guess Schofield, Williams, Bone and Bowden wern’t weapons. Led the league in offense when they were here. Barnes knows how to coach offense. The problem is these guys are not good offensive players. Also the point guard was out which made a huge difference. A valid criticism in this instance would be his recruitment. That is not to say he did not try to get better offensive players and couldn’t.
You missed the whole point. All of those players were 3-4 year players that took time to develop. Grant was the only one and he is perfect for Barnes’ preferred inside out offense. Phillips is not that and his lack of development is apparent. Barnes may have known offense back in the day. But the game has completely changed and it’s clear he hasn’t changed with it

I hated that we lost since it's the tourney, but it didn't sting as bad as usual like when we lost Grant, Bone, admiral etc

This team was way too inconsistent

JJJ folded
Nkahmoua did his houdini act per usual
Uros plays like he's 5'9 and costs us games
Key, do I need to explain myself there?

Only and I mean only guy I would want back is Santi.... the rest of them, it's time to move on

We have offensive weapons coming in next season

Time for a new batch to come in and take over. Way too many role players on this team

I think you are DELUSIONAL should you not want Aidoo and Awaka back. But, I agree with you on JJJ jacking 3's instead of taking the ball to the rack more, ON Houdini act, and Key/Plasvic most of the time. Although, Plasvic could have had a monster game last night had Barnes controlled his stupid fouling antics. He shot 40% from the floor, only Aidoo at 80% was better. Awaka would have been a rebounding machine and good scorer as well had he played more than 1 minute. It was very bad of Barnes to play Awaka 1 minute!!!

I also think Barnes needs to change his recruiting.....as far as whay he looks for. It seems that hardnosed , play hard on Defense are what he looks for....being able to score is optional. He needs some guys that they can count on to score. Even if those guys arenr great defensive players. Their is only so much you can do with great defense and lukewarm offense. Bernard King, Allan Houston, Chris Lofton....he probably wouldn't have even recruited them since their first focus isnt defense

Bernard King was a ferocious defender.

Plav = bye
Key = bye
JJJ = bye
ON = bye

*Key is absolutely terrible. I don’t know if it’s been just a crazy coincidence or not but every single game I watch he can’t hit the broadside of a barn. He has to have had some good games that I just didn’t have a chance to see him. Otherwise, I don’t even think he would be playing.

Chi?

No, no a thousand times no. ON's not a sophomore. He's had a college career to reach his potential and it's still hit or miss if he shows up from one game to the next. Same for JJJ. I'm fine with Santi returning, but that's not going to happen. I'm ready for JJJ, ON and Plavi to all get on with their lives and wish 'em the best wherever it leads them. Just ready to turn that page.
Amen

Honestly, I'd take Santi and ON both back. ON shows potential, he just needs to be consistent. JJJ needs to heal. I love the kid, and if we had more spots, would take him in a heartbeat, but he's gotten really beat up in his time here. And I love Uros, too, but he is what he is, and it's time for him to be pushed out of the nest.

Santi I would take back without a doubt. He’s one of the best to ever play here as far as I’m concerned. Every other senior I wouldn’t have a spot for.

I like JJJ a lot. Think he’s a good guy, but he’s so unreliable. ON falls in the same category. Those are two guys in year four. If they were capable of finding consistency here, they would have done it by now. Best for both sides to move on at this point.

Im disappointed in JJJ’s comments of late taking aim at the fans. I think he’s focusing on a minority of people and he definitely embellished the thing about people saying their season was over after Colorado. Most of what I heard said it would be a catalyst for them which it was. I get tired of players and coaches doing the fan blaming “bigot believed in us” stuff, especially when TBA was sold out all season. Cuonzo and his guys said similar things because they had a very subpar season until they got it together late. I just hate the fan blaming, and it surprised me coming from JJJ more than once.

I hope we have some players capable of scoring fast break points next year. We barely had any this year and it hurt us. Especially with our streaky shooting, a few easy ones would be nice.

I wonder, though, if our lack of offensive consistency comes from the lack of a truly offensive minded assistant coach?

I get that sentiment. To play devil’s advocate, we don’t know what may have been said to him or others on the team personally. Could be more to the story than just a small group of social media morons going after the team.

Besides Seniors moving on I can see a few others transferring as well. Next years team will be young. Prepare to be patient folks.

Fair.

I apologize in advance if someone already posted this but I found a clip of the Uros flagrant. He reminds me of those throwback enforcers that would knock your teeth out. 😬
MMA move?

We need some players that can put the ball in the hoop. Defense is great but offense wins games. The inconsistency and some players not even showing up for games is getting old. And we need more than one PG next year.
It’s badly needed. The elephant in the room is that will it matter given what the coach wants and preaches? Not to say Barnes is a bad coach. He’s great to excellent in some areas.

Needs
PG
2-3 wings
Post with play making or 3pt skills

Agreed it didn't sting like losing to Loyola, but damn it, this was our chance to make a Final Four - instead, we lost to the 15/16 worst seed left in the tournament because we take stupid f'ing shots on offense

Which means we were one of the worst left in the sweet 16.

Dillone and Edwards should be good. But we have no idea since Rick wouldn’t play guards under the age of 22 this season. If they don’t hit the portal, pair them with Carr (good shooter) and some portal guards, we’ll be okay.

He played ZZ all year at age 20 & played him at 19 year old last year. He will play guards under 22, don’t know where this came from. If they earn it and then show it on the court they will play.
