#Hooker4Heisman

Stetson Bennett is an average at best player surrounded by elite talent.

Hooker has been productive at worst in most games outside Georgia. Vs Bama and last years Heisman, Hooker was the best offensive player on the field, Young and Hyatt both had phenomenal games. Hooker also led the offense to beat the hell out of LSU which was also a good team. Hooker has as good a resume as any other QB imo but who are we kidding he was never going to win.

Bennett is having a game……but even with it (and it’s an extra game) he’s only got 20 passing TD’s vs 6 int’s 190 rushing yards and 7 td’s

Just because you play on a team with all the talent in the world……..in NO way means you should win the Heisman.

Hooker has more with less games still, with a better rating, more yards per, more total yards per game more everything while playing less games……..and Hooker didn’t have everything around him that Bennett does (not saying Tennessee is empty).

Hooker has made the “talent” around him much better.

If you swap Hooker and Bennett Georgia is a much better team and Tennessee is a much worse team imo.

I tend to think a walk on QB who may well win two NCs would be just as deserving. But a Hooker would be my first choice as well.

Well none of that has anything to do with being the best player in football, but other than that, sure.

I always look back at Lamar Jackson who had 3 losses and didn’t win the ACC division. Yeah he scored a bunch of TDs against scrubs but lost the big games. What was his “Heisman moment” that is always talked about.

Hooker had a couple of those while leading his team to their best season in nearly 2 decades against the toughest competition in the country.

It’s really hard to argue.

Get it out everywhere Vol Nation. Find a more deserving person. Oh, you won’t. An injury shouldn’t disqualify him from it. He’s earned it and it should be his. No other player had a moment anywhere near Hooker leading his team to a victory over Alabama.

Don't get me wrong. I am an avid Vol fan and appreciate all HH has done this year. However, I don't believe he should be the Heisman winner. In two of the most important games GA & SC), he faded. Against SC he returned to being the same HH that was at VA Tech. Against both GA and SC, he held the ball too long and his decision making was questionable. If I had a Heisman vote, I would place HH as 3rd...behind Max Duggan and Caleb Williams. HH had a great season but I don't believe he is the best player, or even the best QB, in the country. He does deserve the trip to NY, as a finalist, though.

When his knee was shredded against the Cocks, we had the ball with a chance to make it a one score game against a team that scored touchdowns on every drive but one.

Didn’t play well against UGA. Played fine against South Carolina.

Hendon was obviously the best player on the most improved team in the country.

But I've never seen them give the Heisman to a player that was injured

Obviously I want Hooker to win it but I don't think he's got much of a chance after his injury. The best player I've seen this year not named Hooker is Bryce Young unfortunately.

i'm not arguing with anybody. I'm just making a prediction.

He’s terrific at what he’s asked to do, which is not screw up. Put him in Max Duggan’s role and he’s got a bunch of picks and TCU has a bunch of losses.

I know one thing: he kicked our butts with both passs and runs.

To a much lesser degree than several quarterbacks have the last couple of years. None of them have gotten Heisman hype because they weren’t surrounded by 20 pros that were going to be winning 11 games with me at QB.

Neither will win but both deserve to be in NY honestly. Great SEC football from both for the past 2 years.
So does Bryce Young.(he'll be there) Do you think we'd be better with him as our QB this past season? Take off the orange glasses before you answer............there is a ton of QB talent in the SEC friend.

Hooker should win the Heisman, but he won't. No TN player will ever win a Heisman. The national media will always find an excuse. A TN QB would have to have a perfect season in order to win the award, and that never happens. No player or QB is perfect. Even the best have off games, and championship teams find a way to win even when their best player is having an off game. Hooker was clearly the best, most consistent QB this season with a game against Alabama that will still be talked about decades from now. He and Hyatt put TN on their backs and willed them to a win against Bama. Can Stroud, Duggam, or any other contender say that?
