When he's picked in the first round, teams in their division can draft Crews and Chism a couple of years later to shut him down.

Trying to change your position? I though we were talking about a player you really like getting shut down by UT's freshmen inside. Now you bring up CJ vs. Rondo? I never claimed CJ shut Rondo down - in fact quite contrary.

Career - 11 pts/gm, 5 assts/gm
vs. UT - 14 pts/gm, 7 assts/gm

What's your point other than to run CJ down?

Actually, I was quite fond of CJ's game. I was simply pointing out that slowing someone in college doesn't always translate to the league. If it did, Gannon Goodson would have been drafted for the job he did on Shaq in '92.

Oh, that's what you were trying to point out. CJ was a very poor example, and I'll take your word on the Gannon stab since I don't feel like looking it up. But I was pretty sure I remembered Rondo taking his terrible game up a level against UT like Patty Sparks seemed to do too.

Why must you argue with an avid Vols fan, which is in turn supporting the arguement of a Gator fan? :dunno:

Surely you jest? I was pointing out that our freshmen shut down the other team's best player last night. Then I supported our former point guard where hatvol was saying he wasn't as good as a ky player because he wasn't drafted. How is this supporting a gator fan exactly? :question:

Hatvol may be an avid vols fan, but it's hard to tell. Best I can make of it, his team of choice is univ of miami, which is fine. He's a bit brash but solid in making most of his points, just not in this case.

FWIW, I like Bertelkamp too. Good homer color guy.

I like to listen to Bert, who is usually entertaining.

Not to take anything away from Tennessee, but as far as Bryant Dunston goes, the officials slowed him down more than anything. The officials had a very quick whistle that night, with 51 fouls called. Dunston got two fouls early, and I don't think that Coach Whittenburg put him back in the entire first half - he only played something like 18 minutes total. He never got into the flow of what turned out to be a very sloppy game, which rarely slowed to a half-court game.
