That is how I look at it, but I have several close vandy fan friends, and they have done nothing but talk crap for a month now.

you realize we are fighting these teams for recruits as well? them winning bowl games while we are nowhere to be seen doesnt exactly help our cause in ANY way.

I normally pull for all SEC teams to win their bowl games to keep the proof that the SEC is the best there is.

Who cares if the SEC proves it's the best? Our record the past 3 years is proof we suck. Nobody thinks "Oh, that Tennessee is the best 5-7 team in the land. Their record would be a lot better in any other conference". No... they think Tennessee sucks and that's if they even think of us at all. Do you focus on irrelevant teams? Neither do they.

And seeing how many close games there were OOC to crappy opponents and Vanderbilt/Miss State's records being as good as they are kind of throws a wrench in the SEC proving it's greatness this season. Also think about the fact that a team that's been mediocre in the Big 12 walked in, won 10 games, beat Alabama and their freshman QB tore through the conference to a Heisman. The SEC is overrated this season but it's hard to tell with the head start SEC teams were given in the polls.

We have too many fans willing to piggy back on the success of our rivals. It's weird because I hate everyone in the SEC outside of Tennessee and Tennessee is the only team in the country that I care about winning. I pull against a bunch of teams but Tennessee is the only team I pull for. No way am I pulling for rivals, are you kidding me?
