Hopes for 2013 season

It's not going to be the best that's obvious, lets just hope our recruits can see it.

Nope it's all over they are all going to Vandy. Idk what is going on this week it's been so negative. It's the offseason guys everyone is 0-0 right now.

I still think we will beat Missouri, Auburn, Vandy and Kentucky. I say seven and five plus a bowl win.

Obviously we know that. It's pretty clear this isn't a NC team he's rebuilding it takes time & you're going to be in for a long season if you "expect" anything bigger, not saying a good season is just to far out of reach to happen but we probably have one, if not the toughest schedule in the nation. New QB, Average WR, if we loose Lane below average RB against SEC defenses (hopefully someone can step up). Our defense has everything to be great if our DB's can step it up this year.

I'm really excited to see if Dobbs can be something special and maybe even start which I know would be insanely hard. Also if these WR's can help out and make our WR core "good"

All sorts of things has to happen for us to have a good season. If not? I'm going to go with a 6-6 season with a possible bowl game until I see how all these situations plan out.

I don't think the OP or others are being negative, just stating the facts. Most publications and analysts will have us around the 5-7 to possibly 7-5 record. 70% of last yr's offense will be in the NFL, our WRs are very green, and our qb, well he is unproven. Our RBs are average at best, one of them may or may or may not play this season, depending on why Lane was suspended.
However, our O and D line will be improved so the coaches will keep things simple allowing the players to play at full speed, unlike last yr.
With that said, many of the Vol faithful realize this year will be a struggle as we have a ridiculous schedule. Imo, 6-6 is where we will end up which will give us a Bowl game to build on.
This upcoming recruiting class is essential to the program. If we land a top ten class I think we will compete for the East in 2016 , maybe 15, w/strong QB play.

If Marlin Lane is gone we are down to 1 SEC RB and mediocre QBs. Defense will improve but offense will carry the torch for our 2012 D.

Anything less than 5-7 is unacceptable.

A bowl game should be expected. I don't foresee Auburn bouncing back in a big way from a 3 win season, especially with a new coach. Vandy will be a revenge game and the staff will have the players fighting hard, plus it's at home. Mizzou should have been an easy win last year, and they won't be much better this year. And Kentucky is still Kentucky.

7-5 is doable and would make me very, very happy. Then, anything above that and CBJ deserves SEC coach of the year consideration.
