Personally, I'm filing it right alongside the asinine identity politics. Could not care any less. It's ridiculous that it's something anyone would actually concern themselves with considering the real problems this world is dealing with.

Lol...don't mess with Texas. Imagine asking Texas fans not to do hook'em horns.
With Saban gone, watch Texas try to do what they did in in the Big 12. There's a reason every team in that league wanted to be rid of them. aTm couldn't wait to hit the door. Kirby might win more on the field, but they'd never be bama. I'm gonna bet the same ends up being true with Texas setting up their seat in the league office and with the officials.

Can someone please explain to me why Texas is so offended by the horns down? Last week they got in a scuffle in the handshake line and the coach called the opposing team classless for doing it. And now this:

It just seems incredibly soft, they are going to have a hard time in the SEC being this soft. I think every road SEC venue will have a nice loud "Horns down" chant waiting for them.
would never have been an issue if the crybaby basketball coach would have kept his trap shut last week

I don't think there is. That fanbase has a gigantic ego and superiority complex, and remember they were able to play dictator in their two previous conferences (Southwest and Big 12). They are soft and used to getting their way.
Exactly right. They have been allowed to dictate the policies in their other conferences because they were the most influential and wealthy school. Hopefully, the SEC will not succumb to this crap and will continue the revenue-sharing processes that have grown our conference. Those unfamiliar with the Univ of TX may be surprised at the ego and expectations the school and their fans possess. The transition into our conference will not be easy for them.

So let me get this straight-all SEC teams need to do to discombobulate and trigger the Texas teams is to make some kind of horns down reference? Do they know how big our party deck Jumbotron is? Those boys will be in therapy for a decade after coming here.

Walker Texas Ranger was imaginary
How dare you, sir.
I posted a picture of him. I’ve personally watched him thwart many crimes , capture many dangerous men, keeps rugs off the Texas streets, save lives, and teach karate to troubled youth.

Horns Down...they're getting their skivvies in a wad over that?

Next visit UTjr makes to Neyland, the POTS could always honor them and play a Kinky Friedman medley at halftime, featuring this gem. It may not be in good taste, but the resulting meltdown and pearl-clutching would be interesting to watch. Plus, the tune behind the words is pretty catchy.

I totally understand, but he did all of those things on a California sound stage.

Some of you people must be a blast to hang out with. I was making what I thought was a a pretty obvious joke about a factional character being Texas’s only resident who didn’t fit the description of a wimp, and you’re here acting like I’m just finding out Santa isn’t real. Humor is wasted often on this board.
