Horns vs Tide

We’re a top ten program all-time. Jeremy Pruitt was our coach longer than Sark was ‘SC’s coach - does that make him a great coach? Being hired by a top ten program means absolutely nothing. Mike Price was hired by a top two program.
You’re too dense to keep arguing with. My only point in my OP was for Herbstreit to stop acting like Saban made Sark. He worked for him for 2 years, nearly a decade after leading two other P5 programs. Sark wasn’t groomed by Saban. Saban and Smart can be labeled as the mentor/protege combo.

Last time I checked, Pruitt didn’t win 9 games, ever, let alone coming off sanctions. Or get his team up to 6th in the country at one point. Sark is an excellent X & O’s coach and always has been; his personal demons and familial issues hindered his full potential early in his career. Once those cleaned up we’re seeing that he’s a capable coach, not for Saban’s mentorship.

Yeah, there’s such a drastic difference between winning eight and nine games.

I'll go back to what I said before Week 1: I don't know how Milroe won the QB competition. I suppose the easy explanation is that he's great in practice. But it's not like he didn't get ample game time last year. He played against Arkansas and A&M, and he was extremely poor throwing the ball. And it seemed like the coaches saw the same thing, because he spent some time practicing with the WRs during bowl prep. Whatever they think they saw during camp, Milroe is the same guy on the field.

Probably because Milroe gave the Gumps the best chance to win. Anybody who watched the spring game knew QB was a problem, which is why they brought in Buchner.

Last season, Gumps had 4 very close games with arguably the best QB in the country. You thought losing Bryce Young that would improve?

Going back to "murderball" is code for "we have no answers at quarterback".

Also, this delusion about the most dominant O-line because they have 3 starters over 350lbs is ridiculous. Those immobile fatties gave up 5 sacks and what seemed like 30 pressures. All 3 would be more effective at 330lbs.

Gumps still have to play Ole Miss, A&M, Tenn, LSU, & Kentucky -- one of those teams is gonna give them another L.

Nick will NEVER win another natty.

The good thing that came out of this game for us was Bama had to open up their playbook. Their pass routes changed a lot in the 2nd half and Milroe actually hit a few passes downfield. They are no longer world beaters and M<ilroe like it or not is their best QB. Why? You can best believe if they had one better he'd have had his donkey out there this past Saturday.

The surprise to me is how soft Alabama's defense has become as well. In 2011, Texas would have only scored 13 points that entire game. Alabama's offense wasn't always the best in the early Saban era but the defense was lock down enough that they could still win.

Georgia looks more like Alabama once did on defense.
