I said me, not Jerry! You should look that scene up, it's good!
The found footage makes it appear you are watching film that survived an ordeal, like a documentary where you have no idea what happened until the final few minutes. Blair Witch started that concept (I think). But like you, I wasn’t a fan either. Hellhouse LLC is probably the most suspenseful film I’ve watched since The Event Horizon. And it’s not very gory, just paced well.Yeah, I didn't particularly like 'Blair Witch'. Not really familiar with the "found footage" types.
Hereditary was a bit of a mind ****. It was really slow in parts but it picks up at the end.
If you like horror comedy I just saw You Might Be the Killer. It has a Cabin in the Woods feel though not nearly as perfect as that movie was.

The ending of that movie was epic. I can't believe I'm saying this, but @BadJerry20 was brilliant for recommending that one.Dead snow 2

That’s a great one. The actual case that it’s based upon is pretty freaky. There are actual audio tapes of her speaking in different languages during the possession.A bit of an older movie but The Exorcism of Emily Rose is a really good one. Also, a pretty cool "found footage" movie I'd recommend is The Bay.
Just watched Hereditary. It had some good suspenseful parts, and then it also had some unintentionally funny parts. The beheading scene and the headless body floating into the treehouse at the end of the movie made me laugh.
