House Dems about to ask for Trump tax returns

Sorry, you're right - I assumed incorrectly without looking back at the context of your statement. However, I think if his tax returns are required as part of a legal process as ordered by a judge - then it would be a valid basis. No?
Not stated as you have no. You would need to clarify “a valid legal process” a tad more in order to get me to agree. Such a broad ranging interpretation got us this **** show we have now.

If he broke the law prosecute him. Even civil law with regard to tax fraud. However if he did that then the IRS should be handling that right?

Remember how the right used to bellyache about Obama doing sht that they thought made him look like a dictator/king?

Like weaponizing the IRS against political adversaries or having media members spied on ? I hope Pepperidge Farm remembers .

I have it on good authority that the investigation of Trumps taxes and business dealings has been outsourced to Ukraine. After all they are the best at investigating American citizens and corruption.

Yep, absolutely. They should be held accountable if they did that, today. Your mistake is in thinking I don't want them all to break rocks. Start a thread and I'll be right behind you, for now - let's stick to the topic.

I will give you, you are consistent in your call for anarchy and gridlock 😂

Not anarchy per se, but absolutely - I'm a huge fan of gridlock. If Sanders or Warren were elected, not that it'd be necessary but I'd be out canvassing Ft Myers for the GOP House and Senate candidates.

Call it anarchy light. I don’t think you want outright disorder but continual gridlock isn’t far away since nothing gets accomplished. Which isn’t always a bad thing in the age we live in frankly of knee jerk legislation.I’m gonna guess you have been told at various times in your life you’ve got a problem with authority. And probably a bigger problem with perceived authority. I personally have a huge problem with perceived authority.

I don't have a problem with authority, so long as the authority isn't a f'n moron. When one party has absolute control, sht like the ACA happens - can't have that. But it's true of both parties, the ACA is just one example - the GOP does the same stuff - both sides tax and spend.

The perfect government would provide defense and infrastructure, little more. For now, I'd prefer they stop spending and stay out of personal space.

If you or any of your like partners think that the Founded Fathers would look at what’s going on in the different branches today and go ... hmmm , well that’s just like we intended , you’ll all nuts .

The principle of Congress overseeing the Executive Branch still holds. Or it did.

I agree completely. I don’t want to see a pure GOP or Democrat majority government. Would be scary as hell with the extremist legislation we would get from either end.

And if we can’t get cost effective government let’s go with no cost lack of government. I swear to God it’s freaking criminal the bastards in both parties refuse to pass a balanced budget amendment! Look how many damn states have it now FFS! 🤬

A spiraling out of control debt is dumber.

The BBA fixes that like the "three strikes your out" law solved crime.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the government borrowing money, as long as it keeps it under the growth rate. Obviously Congress doesn't, but to arbitrarily cut it off, assuming that could even be done (creative accounting), would create a mess.

Just go to the gold standard while we're at it.

Yes there is a problem with not forcing fiscal responsibility. And fiat currency is worthless if the backing government finances are worthless.

If I ever become a single issue voter it will be on national debt.
