One key sticking point is that the House bill requires that the $1 billion in immediate disaster funding be offset with $1.5 billion in cuts to a loan program that helps automakers retool their operations to make more fuel-efficient cars. Another $100 million would be cut from an alternative energy loan program that provided funding for the solar panel firm Solyndra, a company that declared bankruptcy late last month despite receiving a $535 million federal guarantee in 2009.
i took away from the debates that the republicans are wanting to head back to strong states and weak federal which i'm cool with. i could see 50 mini countries coming our way of certain states dont get their act together.
When I see someone touting the equivalent of secession, no matter how they obviously try to dress it up, I can't help but come to the correct conclusion that its more "If we could just get rid of 'them,' it would all be alright."
Yes, that way you could corral all of the poor blacks into, like, 6 or 7 states and then cut them off from welfare.
Even worse if you believe in the concept of "rule of law" or "equal in the eyes of the law"... that everyone should truly be treated the same.... in a genuinely color blind society... then you are the worst kind of racist.
what kind of moron equates a weak federal government (as codified within the Constitution) with secession and slavery?
that's a rhetorical question, btw, since we already know that you're that kind of moron.

What kind of moron ignores the remark that neocon could "see 50 mini countries coming our way if certain states don't get their act together" ?
"50 mini-countries"
LOL
Calling for a weekend to “cool off,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid set up a Monday vote on replenishing the almost-empty federal disaster relief accounts as all sides race to beat a deadline to keep money money flowing to disaster-stricken states and to keep the federal government at large running.
“Cool off a little bit. Work this through. There’s a compromise here,” Mr. Reid said Friday, minutes after the Senate blocked back a bill drafted by House Republicans that would have replenished the disaster fund accounts through Nov. 18.
