CJH has absolutely earned this weekend to be about the fun he has created around this program. No need to play scared, no need to worry about negative responses. Just tell your men to go have fun, tell Hooker to drop it like only he can, Bru to destroy the traitor, Hyatt to catch everything and the defense to feast, especially our BY and big Omari.
No need to prove anything, Coach. This game, you are playing with house money, take every shot you can. Put that miserlegion of crimson to bed early.
I hate all things crimson

I was expecting 9-3 going into the 2022 season so anything over 9 wins for Tennessee is gravy.

Who has more pressure in this game Tenn or Bama?

We do simply because of the 800 lb. monkey, or in this case elephant on our back. I'm not even going to get into playoff ramifications - just the fact we are playing a game this big a year and a half removed from the Pruitt dumpster fire is incredible enough.

Alabama plays 5-6 games like this every year, so this isn't anything new or different for them. For us it's an opportunity to reclaim our place among the elite programs. Even a close loss and a 10-2 finish would be okay, and way more than any of us expected, but a win? Can't even imagine.

That removes all pressure from us. That terrible crimson team has to prove it. We can play free. Imo

Definitely agree. Best chance to win is be loose and aggressive.

They have to prove what, exactly? We're the ones trying to prove we belong again with the big boys, and this game would go a long way in establishing that. At this point, Saban and Alabama have not a damn thing to prove to anyone.

They are hearing from all sides, even there own base that this is the end of a dynasty. We are "upstarts". Pressure on them

The pressure is on us to prove we belong. Saban is a master at blocking the outside narrative from his team, so I seriously doubt those kids are fearing the 'end of a dynasty'.

Listen, the reality is that we are playing with house money given where we were a year and a half ago, but if you don't think our kids are feeling the pressure of the expectations of this fan base, I don't know what to say. But I really hope they are playing fast and loose right out of the gate.

I'm really glad you aren't a coach adding doubt. My boys got this. CJH will make sure of it. 38-35 BFO

Earlier this week on talk radio, the talking heads were saying that Heupel and staff are very relaxed in the complex. I think you don't need to worry about this with Heupel. He is always relaxed on the sidelines and his teams reflect that.

This is a nice change of pace. Johhny Majors was notoriously tight during bammer week. Phil was relaxed in his early days, but you could see tension leaking out of him later in his career. Butch would get red as a beat, leading to jokes about his head actually exploding. Pruitt would have temper tantrums and yell at staff and players.

It's about time we had a chill coach that can handle the pressure.
