So, season 2, episode 24, eh? Did they really have to do that? It just made the entire series kind of absurd for me.

I thought the entire season was absurd. Season one was fantastic, season two pretty much sucked.

I just finished season 2 and have to agree. The ending was just absurd.

The whole season reminded me of modern day pro wrestling in how each episode tried to outdo the previous episode's big moment.

However, I do give props to the writers for creating an entire series worth of characters to hate, or alternatively, find utterly pathetic.

I thought the whole plot was a little hard to follow.
Season one was outstanding, but I really didn't like this one very much. I'll watch season three, but it's gotten a bit ridiculous now.
Frank almost makes me want to curb my ambition at work.

I thought House of Cards was absurd in season 1 too. The whole plan of using Peter Russo to get to the White House was just as absurd as the scheme in season 2.

House of Cards wants to be like Breaking Bad, the Wire, Mad Men, or the Sopranos, but subjectively it isn't the best show on it's own streaming service (I would give that to Orange is the New Black). I have two major problems with House of Cards. First of all the writers have no idea how to write a scheme that could actually work in the real world (hence the absurdity). Second the main characters are un-redeemable. There is nothing human about Frank unlike other TV anti-heroes (Walter White, Tony Soprano, Stringer Bell). It wouldn't be so bad if there was someone for Frank to truly play off of (like Hannibal plays off Will Graham), but they are just tossed off the show (literally). The only time Frank came across as human was when he went back to his school in season 1. Speaking of which the bi side of Frank was handled in a believable way in that episode, but how it was handled in season 2 was just ridiculous (it felt so tacked on to shock us).

Also Kevin Spacey is a fine actor, but he comes across as a cartoon villain in House of Cards. I dare say he gives the worst performance on the show.

Just started watching this last week! Great show! I love how Kevin Spacey's character will break the "4th wall" every once in a while and address the viewer! His character is great! He sort of reminds me of the D.A. character "Rufus Buckley" he plays in A Time To Kill. In fact, you could almost see his character in House of Cards as a continuation of that same character, rising from law practice right into politics.

Just finished first 6 esp. and Im hooked so far. Ive tried to watch Scandal and NewsRoom but could never get into either show. I watched West Wing for years so HoC is refreshing.

Season 3 has certainly started off with some steam. I was underwhelmed with the later half of season 2, but this is enticing.

Very disappointed in this season. Clair has irritated me from the start, this season she was unbearable. Hopefully Frank kills her off at the beginning of season 4.

Best season yet, imo. They're human after all. And they may be in over their heads.

Yeah, I think the fact they are at the top is really hurting them. They were really good at chasing power and executing their plan, but now that they have all the power, they can't handle it.

Clair and her incompetence/emotions are hurting them.

Best season so far IMO. I believe Claire wants to be president or vice president. The only negative about this season for me was that the story line followed his Chief of Staff, Doug, and his issues too much. I was surprised that Doug did what he did at the end.

Finally finished season 3. Now gotta wait 10 months or whatever for season 4. Sigh

I really enjoyed this season.

Any other suggestions to pass the time? I've heard good thinks about Peaky Blunders

It took me until the mid 2nd season to really get into the Peaky Blinders. Its kind of along the same lines of Boardwalk Empire, if I had to compare it to a current show. Although, it can be a little slow at times.
