Finally, I will never give Urban Meyer any credit, especially not in terms of the 'discipline' you speak of. Have you been living in a hole? We are outraged over a toy gun in Knoxville and the player misses 4 games. In Gator land you have players firing actual firearms in residential areas and testing positive for weed twice in one season, yet these players are always on the field for the 'important' games.
I also recall, during our game against UF, one of Florida's linemen getting a personal foul call for kidney punching one of our players about 4 times.
His mother has stated that the first test came in mid July and the second was late August. To a casual observer, that sure looks like more than 30 days difference, and that would be assuming that he smoked up the night before the first test. Also, since the second test was at the end of August, why did it take greater than a week to get the results back. It might be the Universities policies, but it is Meyer's program. He should know that everything is going to reflect upon him and that he has the power to continue to suspend a player for as long as he likes.
Ok then, I criticize the University of Florida, from the top down, for dropping the ball on the Thomas situation.Well of course he can suspend a player if he wants to, but the original suspension comes at the hands of the university, not the athletic department. If the university found merit in Thomas' argument, I have no problem with Meyer deferring on that. I do not know what the exact sequence of events has been and I am tired of folks blasting Meyer for this when they don't know, either.
I am on board with you guys as far as the gun thing goes. Don't like that at all. But let's get the facts straight on Thomas before criticizing that one.

So, are you going to discuss my post with facts about Florida's lack of focus and discipline on the field?
Oh, sorry, forgot about that.
Yes, my response is that the Gators have been the victim of sloppy officiating.
J/K. During the LSU game, I was going nuts at the Florida O-line constantly getting called for false starts. I'm not sure what was causing that (UF's inexperience on the line, something LSU was doing, etc.), but it happened a lot.
And leading the league in penalties and not being able to kick FG's will too...LG, what is it you want us to say. The Gator's defense is probably the best in the country, but Florida's inability to run the ball will eventually catch up with them.
Also, regardless of what really happened the Thomas incident is a black eye for the program right or wrong. He clearly makes that defense much better, and at the level they are playing that speaks volumes.
It may not be fair, but Meyer is going to have to work a lot harder for respect anywhere, much less on this board. Winning the SEC championship game would certainly be a start. Until then, lets just let the season play out.
