How bad before....

Guys, I'm not just making this up for effect. I sat right infront of Coach Cutcliffe last night and he said that Crompton would play. He also was asked what players made him say WOW this practice season and he said Swain, Meachem for his work ethic, Sears for his work ethic, Foster and Hardesty, and that Cottam and Chris Brown had surprised him and stepped up.

Where do you people live?

Just for mere curiousity, your evidence that Crompton is better than Ainge? Humor me......before my head explodes.....I'll get the duct tape ready.....

I already mentioned it.

Ainge wasn't recruited by hardly anyone and was rated in the low teens to twentys. Cromton was a consensus top 2 or three QB the year he came out.

Crompton hasn't taken a College snap, yet he is still more comfortable in the pocket than Ainge. Ainge had one good game, and that was Florida. Every other game he played before getting hurt was "ok". Last season, every time he stepped on the field was a disaster except for KY when his wide receivers broke free on long runs and Foster ran all day.

As long as Ainge is the starter, I pull for him to succeede. I don't want him losing a game for us, just to get Crompton the job, but I also know which guy is better, and I have a feeling that the coaches will make a move soon.

Performance is purely based on a recruiting ranking?

He has not taken a college snap against an SEC foe and yet he is still more comfortable than Ainge..........

You should have aruged LA Tech.............What was your impression after Ainge's freshman year?

I seriously doubt you want Ainge to succeed.

Wow, you know which guy is better, you know more than Sanders, Fulmer and Cut..........are you a coach?

By sarcastic all you want, it doesn't show that you KNOW any more or that your side is any more right.

My impressions of Ainge after his freshman season was that he was a GOOD quarterback that suffered a bad injury on an unfortunately turn of events. I was excited about his chances at competing for the job in the spring and summer. He lost that competition to Clausen by eveyone's accounts other than Fulmer's, and then proceeded to lose it on the field against UAB. I don't need to go through the rest of last season to attempt to prove my point that he isn't exactly the BEST we have.

When Crompton is named the starter I will look for you. No "I told you so's" will be coming, but I will look for you to step up and say something without being promted.

By the way, don't presume to assume who I might or might not pull for. I told you I pull for him, and I do. If I didn't I would tell you. IF he plays like he did last season, and the coaches do not make a move, I will begin NOT pulling for him, but unlike so many NegaVols I am truely allowing him the benifit of the doubt to see if he and the whole team have changed. If so, GREAT. If not, we have someone that is almost ready to take the reigns and IN MY OPINION, succeede.

Ainge will start the next two years...

I just want to know why he is not the best we have?

What do you have to go on?

Calling me out on an internet message board? LOL
*Not trying to sound to demeaning, but how old are you?

Yeah, it is pretty tough admitting you are wrong..............

Wow, Crompton is the starter.....as long as Tennessee puts the best team on the field I could care less who plays.

Not assuming any thing, just going by information given to me by your post(s).

Ainge will succeed so you should not have to much to worry about.

"We'll see".

If you do not want Ainge to succeed then say it............no reason to skirt the issue.

You may copy this and keep it if you would like.

I was wrong about Ainge and you were right about Crompton.

Do you not understand what you read?

If I didn't want Ainge to succeed, you and everyone else would know it.

I didn't start this thread. I shared what COACH CUTCLIFFE (You remember him don't you?), said last night about Crompton playing in the game tomorrow. I then siad that it is MY OPINION that Crompton is better and that he will be starting at some point this season.

Other people have that opinion too. Get off my jock and go bother them. As long as Ainge is starting, I want him th throw more TD's than INT's. I want him to secure the ball in the backfield. I want him to make smart decisions with the football, and I want him to LEAD this team, like a junior QB should. WHEN he starts doing those things, I will like him a whole lot more than as just the guy starting at QB.

I admit I do when words are mispelled..........

You have no desire to see him succeed, you have a personal bias for Crompton. *Note, there is nothing wrong with that.

If Crompton plays, I hopes he succeeds.

I have no desire to be on your jock or bother any one. I thought an internet forum was a place to discuss different points of view.

I thought we were debating an issue. If you do not like the prodding on my part I apologize.

OrangeSquare. Would be OS.

I don't like being told that I feel a certain way when I do not, especially by someone that doesn't know me.

Regardless how many times you say otherwise, I WANT AINGE TO SUCCEED.

I can prefer Crompton but still want Ainge to succeed. That's the difference in me and the NegaVols. They hate Fulmer and would rather see the Vols fail to get rid of him. I PREFER Crompton because I know what he is capable of, but I do not in any way want Ainge to fail. I PULL FOR AINGE.

I don't know how much more clear I can be.

I stated an opinion and I am standing by it. I will not continue to be told that I don't support someone that I do.

I suggest we simply drop it and move on to something else.

I think he is in for the season bar injury or a total meltdown we do not want a repeat of last year.

Cutcliffe said last night when asked if they were planning on playing Crompton that they were infact going to play him. He said that he didn't have a set plan of when they were going to do it, and that they may throw the whole second team in "just to see how bad they want to play".

Can't say I'm thrilled by that... that's all Ainge needs again, being jerked around in and out of the game.

If that was said last night has anybody written about this? This completley oppositional to what has been said up until this point. Where was this said, in and interview or a private event? I agree with the above poster that this is the last thing we need going into this game. We learned that last year.

My opinion is, you have to stick with Ainge in this 1st game. Unless he's getting pulled because we have a sizeable advantage. Once he's yanked, it's all over.

I hope Ainge comes out and looks the best he ever has, but I still think Crompton will be starting by Florida.

There wasn't any press there, so no. No one wrote about it. However, it has been said in the press that Crompton would see some snaps.

Stick with him until after Florida. If he hasn't gotten it together by then, let Crompton have it for the rest of the season. All the SEC games will have to be played except that one, and Crompton has a chance to salvage the team. At the very least, he gets seven or so games under his belt for next year.
