How can you tell if tickets are legitimate?

The problem I kept running into until last year was that I’d get real tickets but then get defrauded right at kickoff when I was promised a top tier college football game and witnessed FCS level football.

I have always bought from individuals, but now with the E-tickets I am scared to buy any unless I know them. Facebook seems to be crawling with scams. Up until now I was never afraid to buy from scalpers also. Any advice or info would be appreciated.
It's almost impossible to produce fake digital tickets. That's a huge upside and the one thing I do like about them. Someone transfers you tickets, you accept them, they're gone from their TM account, and into your TM.

Most of the Facebook scams probably involve someone paying a "seller" for tickets the seller never had to begin with. I've bought and sold on some of the resale pages plenty of times without an issue.

I have season tickets but I’ve always purchased from folks on this board. When I sell mine (like I am this week) I tell the potential buyer to text or call me. I give them some of my info so they know it’s me. Plus, they can verify my wife’s Venmo account prior to sending me $$$.

Also, season tickets are thru ticket master.

Go to the tickets forum on here. Go to Ticketmaster for StubHub. Do some thing official. Anything else and you’re gambling with your money.

Sometimes I try to haggle with the Walmart cashier. They never think its funny. The guys in the vape shop, on the other hand, will almost always give me a deal.
I went into a music store yesterday to purchase a microphone. When asked if they had an "ugly man discount", the cashier said "Yes Sir!" and took 10% off.

Sold mine to a guy no problem. We used venmo. We had a process of verification. We exchanged venmos. He sent me a small amount unknownst to me, like 8 cents. I sent it back and texted how much he had sent me. Then he put like 50 down for initial ticket. I sent him him one ticket. I sent pictutes verifying the tickets prior to money sent. Then he sends all the money and I sent him back all the tickets. We took our time to make sure each one was real.

We did all that to make sure we felt safe. I would watch I had a scammer on Volnation. He wouldn't sell me his parking pass. Just told me to venmo him money. But he refused to verify anything. Then he ghosted me.
When using Venmo with a stranger you need to use click the “turn on for purchases” icon when sending them a request for the money or make sure they click it if doing the transaction in person. If this isn’t clicked, Venmo exchanges are just bank transfers. Bank transfers take like 3 days to process and the person sending the money can cancel the transfer at anytime during that 3 day period.

Yep, you have to click it before the transfer or the person sending money has to click it. Most people don’t click it b/c most Venmo transfers are between people who know each other. Also Venmo payments sent with this feature are considered taxable income and everyone hates taxes so they think risk of being screwed over is better than paying a small amount of income tax.

If you look at the ticket there’s a holographic “Woooh!” After rocky top. If there is no “woooh” they are fraudulent.

I did see people selling physical tickets on Cumberland today. I have no idea if they were legitimate.
