Whether it is deserved or not, we know republicans wouldn't stoop to going after Obama with the kind of constant slander and ridicule Dubya has had to face.

Yes, but Republicans have also constantly criticized this administration, and republicans in the house and senate for being weak and not taking a stance. If Obama policies fail, your damn right I'm going to voice my opinion. But I'm not going to blame him for everything from Global Warming to toilets backing up. Just look at this board, how many in this forum voted for Bush, and who are his biggest critics of policies.

Let me reinterate something. I specifically said for all the rethorical and theoretically sound minds here, to run for office and make a change. We, as a whole nit pick on those who run for office and make blanket statements about the current admin. We discredit them because it is easy to point out other people's flaws. Why chastise me for calling them out?

Hey man, "reinterate" all you want - but you completely taint whatever point you're trying to make when you throw out the good old "Obama is a Muslim" propaganda. I didn't have a problem with the points you were making until I read the last line, which made what you had to say mean a whole lot less to me.

So, am I to conclude from your comments that you contend that referring to Obama as a Muslim is not an ignorant statement? If it was a joke, then it wasn't a very funny one. If it was an attempt to marginalize him, then it is malicious. And, if it was your true opinion, then I would really like to know how this doesn't reflect your ignorance of the multitude of reports that exist regarding his beliefs? Please tell...

As I said before, I was merely stooping to the same level that many Bush Bashers stoop to in oreder to make themselves appear to be above the topic at hand. Picking on Presidents and their choices is easy from the comforts of a nice subarban home that you enjoy due to the freedom and libreties that we all enjoy based on the safety we are provided by the men and women that help keep us safe. Pointing out character flaws for men who live in the public eye is like catching large mouth bass out of a bath tub. I was making a point that it gets old and it seems that I stirred the pot a bit when I stooped to a level unbecoming of my general character. My thought was this, if ignorant folks can bash Bush consistantly, how bout throw in the same type of "ignorant" slander at a Dem. The threads that pick on Obama and Hillary are abundant. I just chose to make a similar idiotic assertion in the a thread that was anti Bush, or atleast it was headed that way.

Frankly, I think we all are lucky to live in our country and I think that a great change is on the horizon. Be it a republican president or democrat. Hopefully the demoralization of our next leading official wont be as rampid as the current one faced.

We are lucky but no great changes are on our horizon becaue the disparity between our 2 REAL choices are hardly any different in the sense of what they are actually able to change... no matter what they promise. Until people wake up and quit drinking the 2 party Kool-Aid... nothing will change.

Finally... the demoralization will will continue... that is a fact sadly.

if you are under the impression that putting a dem in office with a dem congress won't make an enormous negative tax difference, you might consider looking back at their track record when they controlled the whole enchilada. We could have used a dem congress for the first 6 years of Bush's term to offset the kind of stupidity that happens when either party has carte blanche.

Im not under any impression.... I agree with you.... there must be balance one way or the other. Both are so dog-eat-dog about getting their way it's ridiculous. I wonder what kind of balance a 3rd party POTUS would bring?

don't get me wrong, I have no qualms with bashing Clinton, but I just don't get this.

Presidents get too much credit, good and bad, for the economy. Second, the economy isn't that bad but is being hit by a housing correction and fuel is introducing artificial inflation. Other than that, the economy has been reasonably solid.

I was just jumping into an argument that was bashing the current president. I agree that you can't blame an individual for many factors that promote a stagnant economy.

As to Why I would pick Clinton as the idiot who started the rock rolling in that direction? Multiple factors, but one example would be the missile guidance chip factory that was in Indiana Magnequench. Clinton allowed the sale of this company to the Chinese on the promise that the factory and its workers would not be moved until after he was no longer president. That means, when Bush took over, the Chinese closed shop and left and this by no means was the only case. Meanwhile, Clinton becomes wealthy and Hillary blames Bush and somehow Obama during her campaign there?

I agree that the Bush bashing gets old . . . but so does calling Obama a Muslim just for the sake of marginalizing him.

And in a similar vein, it irked me whenever Limbaugh would blame Clinton for the rise in teen sexual activity in the late 90's.
