How did you arrive at VolNation?

I was in the Philippines and wanted training camp news. I wound up here. We were going to be awesome in 2008.....

A friend told me to check out VolNation about Kiffin leaving. Almost 5 years later I'm still here.

I read VolNation for 10 years before I finally came on board in 2012 to post my thoughts & opinions. I love this place because of my love for all UT sports & the updates on UT's recruits.

I was visiting Vol_in_ar in Fayetteville. Gameday was there and we got steamed rolled by Darren McFadden and Felix Jones, bad day.

Found it in early 2009. Someone used to post a link to VN under the comments on GVX.

Lurked for a few months before joining.

I googled "Tennessee Vols recruiting class 2014" and the first 180,000 hits were VolNation posts about numbers. And ESPN hates us. And Butch gets it. And Spittin' Lou sucks. And Candy.

Got tired of hearing all the negativity about my Hero Fulmer.

Got to meet him at a highschool swim meet in Nashville at the Tracy Caulkins center in 2002. His Daughter was a diver or swimmer or something, saw him in the stands with some big ole dudes( probably football players) I was so excited didn't care, ) took my hat to him to sign and ha gave me a good pep talk when I told him I had bad day competing , when I told my parents they secretly got him to sign a birthday card with Neyland stadium on it .
When I left the last day I saw him taking pictures on the deck with a bunch of suits and screamed "BEATBAMA!!!" He let out a "GO VOLS" and I about lost it!
10 years later this dooley guy was ruining my football team I grew to love and "BEATBAMA12" was born.
GBO VFL .

I found it right after the start of the 04 season when I did a Google search for Tennessee Vols message boards. There were only a handful of regular posters when I first signed up.

Needed someone to celebrate the '06 Cal game with since I had moved to Hampton Roads and had no Vol fans nearby.

I joined a few weeks after seeing my first game as an adult in Neyland. I remember going to a couple games when I was younger. But when your 5 or 6 years old you don't remember much. Went to the opener against Montana and starting trying to find a place to bs about football.

Got tired of GVX and it's lack of soul...googled Tennessee Vols football fans...found the link...checked it out...signed up as Daltonvol and then forgot my password...lurked for a year and a half...Butch got hired and butchna was born! :fireworks: :fireworks: :daddy:

I used to read all the comments on stories on GVX and lots of people would reference VN on there. So I came on over.

The reason I quoted you, Butchna, is because up until about a month ago, my screen name was Daltonvol (which it had been since I signed up in 2009). Could yours have been something different?

I am pretty sure I found it searching Google for Vol-related news. It's been so long now. I was a lurker for like a year before I commented.

Other sites like Volquest require, or did at the time, a paid membership to post in forums. VN was free.

I just realized I needed a decent place to discuss all things Vol.

Looked around a bit and stumbled on it.

Maybe it had a number at the end?...would explain why my password didn't work. :dunno:

Freak slipped a roofie in my appletini, I awoke in his basement as NerdVol.
