Uh, intermediate passes are less than 20 yards. We have to start completling the intermediate throws. I heard a stat that we have only completed 2 passes for more than 20 yards. If teams don't think they have to guard that portion of the field, they will cheat up and start loading the box. Fortunately against UVA and Austin Peay we could be predictable and still run down their throats. Against the better teams, it will be much harder. So either Joe has to find a way to complete those passes or he will be replaced eventually. I hope for the best for him, but at the same time don't want us to run our team into the ground doing the same 3 plays..
I definitely understand the very conservative approach to the Austin Peay game. And keeping JMilton in his comfort zone. But if we keep running those little bubble screens out to either side, it's just a matter of time until some savvy defensive player gets a pick six. I kept waiting for the long balls to fly but instead got a constant diet of short pitches into coverage, many of which went nowhere. If we are not going to take advantage of the big arm we have, why not just become a run first team? Also had the thought that maybe before each game, have Milton throw 100 or so passes to tire out his arm a little. Might keep him from overthrowing and/or throwing harder than needed to complete the pass. He seemed to have too much adrenalin going especially in the first half.

AR was UF's key to keep the game close last year. UF doesn't have that athletic talent at QB so things could get out of hand for Florida. If we can handle the Ben Hill environment then I think we can blow this game wide open with Joe having an avg. day with no turnovers. If the environment becomes a factor then I will have concerns. We have had a run of bad luck in the Swamp. The place is cursed.Hooker running was so key to last year's Florida game. Does anyone think Joe can replicate this?
