How Do You Take Four Steps & It's Not Walking?

It’s happened a lot. I guess it’s not an official stat that’s kept.

There was another earlier in the game and Vandy hit all 3 free throws.
Yeah...Z keeps trying this flyby deal where he isn't attempting to block the shot. Just acting as a distraction and getting too close to their follow thru.

They might want to review film for a pattern with him.

JM has been inconsistent as a starter this year. He was really good in that 6th man role bringing energy off bench.

Vandy player quit dribbling, took three full steps to the right, stopped, and took a big step to the left to move around the UT player? That turned out to be the difference. When I played the ball better hit the floor before you take that second step or it's a walking violation. I know the NBA refs have went totally liberal and seeing that, some, in college now.

Just watch Angel Reese play.

We simply gave up too many layups and weakly if not uncontested points in the paint. Boswell got toasted by a fake two plays in a row with a ball fake; jumped on the fake leaving a wide open shot six feet fyy th on the basket. Lanier shot better but is reckless with the ball at times. We simply didn’t get stops on D early on. Offensively we could have rebounded better nut we were not fighting for it and often out of position. Vandy played ten times better than what they actually are. CRB will drive this loss home in practice. You hate losing to a lessor opponent, especially them. Lanier will figure out how to get open sooner and shoot the dang ball with a defender on him or he will ride the bench more. There is a lot of optimism this team continues to learn, grow and improve before tournament time. Do not look like a top 4 seed the past two weeks. There is time to get there if they continue to work and get more people involved offensively. Even though, defense hurt today. Go Vols.

Men we got outplayed today, 2 games in a row where we played terrible in the first half. The SEC is a meat grinder this year. We’ll be okay
We can't win a shootout with teams that get hot with the 3's. We're not built for that, but we let them have too many open shots. That was the big surprise. Our defense is what we rely on to win, and it collapsed, plus ZZ giving up TO's like he never does. That doomed us.

I don’t think ZZ hit the first guy that got 3 free throws. Maybe slightly up top, but the official fell for the falling to the floor. That’s why officiating drives me crazy as officials don’t watch body positioning. But we are the top 3 point defense for a reason.

Vandy was complaining all game about fouls when replays showed they were indeed fouls.

Refs are worthless and apathetic these days. They may as well do away with the rule. Naismith sitting in heaven shaking his head and wringing his hands

Mashack giving up the 4-point play just before halftime was huge. A stop there and maybe UT wouldn’t have been trying to catch Vandy for the rest of the game.

Agree. Rick commented on how big that play was, and called out Shack and Z for fouling on 3-point shots, which to him is unforgivable. But he was upset not only about the foul but that the ball screen switch was bad, leaving the guy wide open.

Theyre slowing transforming the college game into the NBA with the rules. They want it to be all offense and hardly any defense. Its a disgrace to the game. It's why the NBA sucks and I haven't watched a game in years.
