How far will we go?

Maybe final four with some luck. Holly Warlick does the least with the most.

Not exactly accurate. We haven't had the most talent but we have had some of the highest rated players coming out of high school only to watch them digress and never really become the dominant college players people thought. Holly can take a championship caliber team and turn them into a elite 8, a final four team into a sweet sixteen, etc. Geno makes practices so tough and mentally taxing that the games are easy. So when his kids come to play they think they are above your team, just because they have been forged by fire. Unfortunately I think we are losing some of the best college players to other programs due to the fact of star player development being so poor at UT. If you take my theory into consideration, then we are in trouble. The next step is to take mediocre talent and turn them into possibly not making the tourney.

Those top prospects were overrated to begin with, it happens. Recognizing and evaluating talent is essential to any coach's long term success. CHW should be good at that by now. Given our facilities , tradition , and fan base , there's no excuse for being out recruited.

I think the team we have sitting on the bench plus Cooper could beat our team on the floor most of the time. Next year is really Holly's big year to get something done in the NCAA tourney. If she gets to the final four this year it will be great and somewhat of a surprise. Next year it will be expected.

No way this team wins the big games without Harrison, Jones, or Mercedes on the floor this year. I don't expect much out of this team this year but next Holly HAS to get back to not only the Final Four but the championship game IMO....there's wayyyy to much talent next year not to....no excuse!

We have a pretty good team but, absolutely, we are inconsistent. Massengale is very inconsistent, and neither she nor Reynolds are very good defensively. That's a problem. We could make the final four--if we play strong defense and shoot pretty well. Games usually hinge on shooting.

I think we lose in Elite 8 this year without Izzy. But I give Burdick a lot of credit for stepping up into a leadership role. Amass has regressed in her time here, not sure why, maybe injuries.

I think Holly's a good coach, but she's running off the LV's prior success. Maybe she will grow into the job? We'll find out next year. But if not Holly, who could recreate the magic that Pat had? Maybe Tyler?

Holly has the LadyVols in the NCAAs every season. She will be Head Coach for many seasons to come.

I think next year when they run the table and go undefeated then everyone will forget all this talk about another coach. diamond coming to Tennessee could be that spark that brings us back to that elite status, just as maya Moore brought uconn back from the slump they were in for several years.

The LadyVols will beat Duke or Maryland and make it to the Final Four.

Better think again Dave. You never know what TN team shows up to play....playing ahead or trying to catch up. You make it sound easy but we have to get pass Pitt on Monday first & the way things have been going for other teams lately it ain't a sure win in the bag against Pitt.

Three years to be exact. UConn lost in the sweet sixteen in 04-5, and the elite eight in 05-6 and 06-7.

Tennessee's slump has been six years, with a 1st round loss, 2 sweet sixteen losses and 3 elite 8 losses.

Diamond is good enough to make a difference.

From Western Pa..married to a Lebanon,Tenn girl,MTSU grad!! I am a UCONN fan....not from there and did not go to school there....but a UCONN fan....As a UCONN fan am sick of the UCONN fans, they have a attitude that can make you sick, they are the only ones that know anything on the BONEYARD,sick....I was thrown out of the Boneyard for not agreeing with some of Genos moves and you know he is God up there.Dare not go aginst the good old boys club called the Boneyard......BUT TO MY POINT.....ANY TEAM CAN BE BEAT>>>INCLUDING UCONN...WHY ARE SOME OF YOU SAYING NO CHANCE>>>WELL I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF SURE THING GO THE WRONG WAY...BE UPBEAT!!!......BUT I still am a UCONN fan and hope UCONN wins it all...And you should feel the same about your VOLS!!!!Best of luck to all.

lind, most on this board will gladly admit UConn is great/ and will most likely win it all again.....The bad feelings between our fan bases is as childish as third graders sticking out their tongues and needs to be stopped.....

I enjoy watching UConn play ball. The Pat Summitt era is over now and people on both sides need to grow up and just enjoy the game.

From what I've heard from several close to the program, we will never play Uconn in the regular season as long as Pat is alive.

I mirror your thought..... Let's play basketball and forget about the past.... UC and UT do not need each other....as far as nostalgia it is great... but the past is just that ... the past.... SC is there for Lady Vols and ND is there for Conn.... I understand why there is a longing for the past, but on the other hand, I really don't .... let's look ahead

From what I've heard and read, Holly had been approached by Espn and/or Uconn about resuming the series and her answer was no.

You are correct. Little wants an apology of some sort. Ain't gonna happen. Although Pat has been out of the game for a few years, Geno is still chasing her. He will never accomplish all she did.

They'll barely squeak by Gonzaga and get curbstomped by Maryland in the Elite Eight.
