Say what you want but Fromm was a winner since he was a freshman. I'd say he was probably better than Fields and Eason at the time they were there. Fields had an amazing year but was it really just the the talent and schedule of OSU?

Winning in college and winning in the NFL are vastly different things. Literally worlds apart.

Fromm reminds me a lot of Casey Claussen. Good college QBs surrounded by top shelf talent (Ga recruits in the Top 5 every year...I don’t buy the argument that Fromm lacked talent around him). Both probably held back by mediocre OCs. Both with unspectacular arms.

Fields is 2x the QB Fromm is. It's not even close. As a freshman Fields had 8 total TD's and 0 INT's, hitting 69% of his passes with limited play in a system that wasn't tailored to him. I have no reason to believe he's a product of tOSU's system and schedule.

Fields has 59 TD's in 14 starts and Fromm has 81 in 43 starts.

Smart has a natty if Fromm can hit a wide-open 5 yard out. I don't blame Smart for picking Fromm over Eason but Smart's big mistake was picking Fromm over Fields.
This quote came from a Grade A-toolbag (Dan Wolken), but he said it best last year when he tweeted "If Justin Fields doesn't 'fit your system,' then your system sucks." If Kirby & Co. thought Fields was one of these "athlete playing QB" types who by far greatest attribute is running around and scrambling, he was dead wrong.

What Kirby wants to do is win like Saban's Alabama teams did 10 years ago. Pound the rock and rely on your defense. Kirby thinks that's what you must do in order to be successful. What's funny is Saban is actually extremely adaptable based upon personnel and just how the game changes generally over time - he isn't beholden to winning any particular way, but I think Kirby thinks he is.

I don’t disagree at all but to say Fromm can’t do the simple things right is a bit of a stretch. That back shoulder throw against Tennessee was perfect. Smart keeping the good ole boy system in place hurt Fromm when he coulda had any coach he wanted.

I never said Fromm would be a star in the NFL. I do believe he could succeed in the right organization such as the Patriots.

I can't believe how badly some of you trash a QB who lit up UT last year. Fromm was 24/29 for 288 yards, and 2 TDs. He would have killed it playing for Overhype State.

Freshman year he had 4 passing/4 rushing touchdowns. Those 4 passing touchdowns came from the perennial superpowers: Austin Peauy, MTSU, and UMASS.

Last year he put up great numbers which is impressive don't get me wrong but the majority of his TDs weren't against great teams. Clemson he threw 2 INTs.

I'm not knocking Fields' talent or production but you are disrespecting Fromm. As a true freshman he led UGA to the CFP championship and barely lost to Bama. Threw 24 TDs/7 INTs with 62% for the year. He was even better as a sophomore but his production declined last year.

Fromm is good. Fields is a game changer.

Fromm only had 250 yards and 3 TD's twice his JUNIOR year (as a 3rd year starter), against Arkansas St and GT, LOL.

As a sophomore, Fields did it against FAU, Cincy, Miami (OH), Nebraska, Rutgers, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Clemson's D is sick and had a month to game plan for a first-year starter. Not that surprising that he struggled. Fromm threw 2 picks against LSU with 100 fewer yards, so...

Other than Clemson and Wisconsin...and maybe Michigan, Cincy those teams are mediocre.

If you use that argument for Clemson, you could say the same about LSU.

Again I'm not arguing that Fields is way more talented than Fromm talent wise or even that he'll have the better overall career. I just don't think it's fair to Fromm to deny his football IQ and being a consistent winner.

He did ok that day for a noodle arm. But, he lost his swag. Can't get that back versus the grown men in the big boy league

He's got a high football IQ, but so much of CFB comes down to the ability to make big plays. I mean look at Saban...he doesn't lose to pocket QB's. He loses to dual-threat guys. That's why you take Fields over Fromm, IMO.
