I have not 100% wrote off Ainge yet I'm at about 85%, but from the look of things he is at about the same as he was last year. I am through making excuses. I say Ainge will be benched in the 2nd quarter against Cal and Crompton will start the remainder of the year barring injuries ! Now I hope the young fellow ( Ainge) can get it together, but damn it has been three years, how much more can we endure?

I hope you know that Crompton was just as bad as Ainge in the scrimmage. And Crompton isnt ready to play yet.

Please dump this thread mods......No Offense Rocky, I just think this is how we started last year about this time and i dont think we want to relive it.

No don't dump anything MODS ! This is real talk. By now Erik should have his stuff together, charly has it come to the point that we accept mediocrity?

Did you actually see the scrimmage? I know everybody is edgy, but it seems like there's a mass panic attack starting over something that most people are hearing about secondhand. It's definitely not encouraging, but it is what it is . . . the first scrimmage.

No I didn't, but The Commerical Appeal newspaper, The Tennessean Newspaper, The website, and media are saying the same thing. If you were there tell me from a football fans view, not a Tennessee Vols Fan view, because we tend to become bias, I know because I am guilty of that myself.

Don't get it twisted I love my Vols, all of them but it has been three years for Erik who should be further along from some of the stuff that was printed and posted in the media.

Hell no i dont accept medicocrity. But you really believe that Crompton is ready. He will get killed by Florida's defense.

Well we're in deep She - it. Heck a statring Qb is only a play away from being injured, so if ainge goes down, are we in the panic mode, especially with Crompton being #2 ?

I'm not questioning your loyalty whatsoever, just saying that I think we need to reserve judgement at least until the second scrimmage.

I understand. Guys I just think some of the stuff like fumbled snaps and the unnecessary timeouts, we should b much further along than that.

I agree that stuff is never good to see, but it's the first scrimmage with a new OC.

I agree its too soon to dump on EA yet, but to say Cromp was as bad as he was is a poor assessment CBC. Cromp threw 2 TDs where EA threw two picks.

Agreed. It was the first scriammage, hes got time to work it out.

I think that if Crompton isn't starting by UF then he won't start all year barring injury. We will either be good enough with Ainge to finish near the top of the east or bad enough that Fulmer may be out.

your joking right? I was at the scrimmage Crompton looked very good and would have had even better stats if not for dropped passes, Ainge threw two LSU like interceptions and looked completly rattled IN A SCRIMMAGE. There was a night and day difference in the passing offense when Crompton was in then Ainge

Wasn't there also a night and day difference in the defensive personnel he was facing?

I'd hope they let Crompton have some reps against the first team D. If not, he will be facing some this coming scrimmage.

need to get on the horn with B. Dvis asap. Wait until end of the season and there'll be a bidding war with Michigan and Miami.

There are some on the board with more knowlege of Davis, but I cannot imagine him coming to UT over Miami.

I will go out on a limb and say that Tedford and Petrino will be at the top of the wish list. I would not rule out Miami persuing Petrino either.
