Provided no turnovers, the Gators without their star running back Wynn will be be on the short end, trumped by LSU star quarterback Russell. This coupled with a UF defeat by UGA, works out nice for the Vols.
Certainly a possible scenario. But you would still need to win one more than us and have the tiebreakers go your way.
At any rate, I really think Florida is a lot better than Georgia right now.
Provided the Vols go into their nest in between the hedges and leave with a victory, the UGA Bulldogs will be stirring like a bunch of hornets, out for a revenge game against.......... "The Mighty Gators"!:rock:Certainly a possible scenario. But you would still need to win one more than us and have the tiebreakers go your way.

I don't know if Florida will score on the LSU or Auburn defense. I have simply been unimpressed with the Florida offense to this point. LG may argue, but I still think Florida is a little soft.
Florida was clearly the better team against UT but I think that they faced a UT team that was severly hampered by injury. They put up decent numbers on a UT defense that was at 75% due to injuries to Harrell and Mayo, who I think has been playing hurt since the Cal game.
They looked terrible against the Cats who sport the slowest defense in the conference. I think Auburn, LSU, and GA to a lesser extent will exploit every weakness in Florida's offensive line. Look for Auburn and LSU to wear Florida's defense down due to Florida's inability to move the football consisitently. In both of those contests the Florida D will spend enormous amounts of time on the field.
now that's a good rational post LG...fairly objective, and i would basically agree with you.Me argue? No way.
I agree with you that Florida has not moved the ball consistently. But I cannot tell if that means that the offense isn't good, if the team is just somewhat lackadaisacal, or if they just haven't put it all together in one game, yet
In the UT and 'bama games this year, when falling behind, they came out and executed very well and put on sustained drives in the 90-yard region. They CAN do it, but so far, they haven't done it from the gitgo against good teams and then kept the pressure on.
Its almost as though they have to have 2-3 series to figure out what the D is doing before they can come up with a plan.
Question is, 5 games into the season, are they about to put it all together for one game? We know our D can keep us in it. It may be that LSU and Auburn can put up 20-24 points against us over the course of a game. So far, the offense has been competitive with that but as you say not consistent.
So I do think that these games come down to whether Florida can score in the 25-30 range, i.e. four touchdowns. So far, they haven't. But they've shown they can.
one more point...those weapons on offense...the reason i think they can get 27+ on you guys is, where we we got FG's and failed to get TD's, i think they can get the TD's...now that's a good rational post LG...fairly objective, and i would basically agree with you.
Being ABLE to do something and actually doing it are two different things though...and the one advantage i would give LSU is they have already played a very tough defense in Auburn...so they won't be shocked at the quality of UF's D.
Plus, i think LSU's offense is very confident right now...and they have more weapons on offense than we do, and it may be enough to pull out 27+ points on you guys...gonna be a good game i feel.
I see them losing 2 of 3.......That's what I'm hoping because I have to say from what I've seen, Auburn and LSU LOOK better than Florida....Are they? We'll find out soon....But I think on defense LSU has the speed to match what Florida has on the Offensive side of the ball.....So I think they could shut down the run(s) by Tebow and Wynn(is he playing?) especially Tebow on the option pitch(when he does it) and the straight QB draw....Which is what he likes to do...Auburn and LSU are two very close teams so that's why I think they'll lose those 2 games....They'll own UGA
Last I heard Wynn is not playing. Would not surprise me if he suited up just in case, but I think if there is any doubt they will keep him on the bench -- the season is too long and too many other big match-ups coming for us to lose him for the year in an effort just to try to win this game, especially is he can't be 100%
I'm a Gator fan and of course rooting for Florida to win. But I am objective enough as a fan of the game itself to realize that Florida definitely should be the underdog at Auburn. I do think Florida ought to be favored at home, versus LSU, but I gues we are a 1-2 point dog, depending on which service you look at.
I imagine that Florida gets some points versus LSU based on Wynn being out, and that's legitimate.
Nine days from now, with UT-Ga played out and with Florida having played LSU and Auburn, we will know so much more about where the SECE is heading and there could be some significant changes in the national title hunt, too.
Have fun, and we are all hoping you are right...:crossfingers:Did I mention that I'm going to the Florida-LSU game?
Oh, yeah, guess I did.
About 10 times so far!!
Go ye Mighty Gators!!!!!
But on a side note, I really do think UT beats UGA and handily at that. UGA has struggled so much. Talk about a team lacking an identity! UGA is the stealth team of 2006. no one knows who or what they are.
I say you expose them, 30-13.
